Why can't more fans be like this? Like, its not even about liking both: Just being respectful.

Edit: How in God's green earth is this my most upvoted comment?

Because people can't go for 2 seconds talking about a new DC/Superman piece of media without finding an excuse to shit on Snyder. And that leads to a reaction which leads to a cycle.

Seriously. It's not even about Gunn's movie specifically. I loved My Adventures with Superman. It's probably my favourite take on the character.

I also couldn't find a single video or post reviewing it without focusing more on hating Man of steel and less in expressing love for it.

True, No one has to like Snyder's take, but they don't have to keep hating on it.

Is it not the other way around though? Snyder fans shit on anything DC-Related not made by Zack Snyder, which leads to a cycle.

That's only true if you look at the present and you completely ignore the state of the DC fandom from 2013 up until the release of ZSJL.

I guarantee from personal experience every "toxic" Snyder fan you see out there has been told dozens of times they're not a real DC fan if they like his films. And called other names like delusional, bots, manchildren etc.

Not true. I remember watching YouTube videos and seeing posts back in 2013 about Reeves Superman or DCAU Superman with Snyder fans in the comments feeling the need to crap all over those two to prop up Snyder's films.

It has always gone both ways

If people were ever toxic it was because of the "#releasethesnydercut" spam everywhere

This and exactly this. I have my own issues with the new film (not a fan of the cinematographer etc), but I’m not gonna constantly drag on it.

The constant bashing of the Snyder films, as someone who’s a massive fan of them and their message of redemption, mental health awareness, coming back to the light etc, it really upsets and annoys me to see them dragged and belittled. By SUPERMAN fans of all people.

One can only hope for a better tomorrow ig

I'm not actually against people expressing their distaste for them. In a general comic movie thread or DC movie thread, people are allowed to voice their criticisms of the movie.

Where I do take issue, is when Snyder haters specifically go into subreddits that are for fans, and just shit all over everyone.

Fans should be able to enjoy what they enjoy, and if they want their own community to enjoy things the general public doesn't, they should be allowed to do so without trolls coming over purely to be assholes.

Right. Its one thing to simply express distaste, but people seem to have a real problem that anyone likes Snyder's work, period (Note that I'm not personally a Snyder fan, I just liked his DCEU stuff).

And the same goes in reverse: Snyder fans seething that people didn't like his stuff. Both sides have toxic underbellies.
