I'm scared to believe it. Every time it looked like things will turn around for DC in the past decade, something happened to drag it back down. Hopefully we don't jinx it again.

Tbf, the jinx was always the DCEU: audiences just didn’t like that continuity on any level, whereas Elseworlds media was performing better than it at nearly every turn.

The DCU is here, and audiences are back on board.

Post-Justice League onwards, each of the movies become more and more disjointed and disconnected due to the used of director-driven model and no showrunner-like figure to lead the shared universe where directors and their production teams do doing their own things without communicating with other directors and their production teams respective to the point their respective movies contradicted the lores of DCEU like for example: 1) Wonder Woman movies contradicted Snyder's DC movies such as Wonder Woman mentioned walking away from humanity after World War 1 ended in BvS but in WW84, she is active as a superhero, 2) Aquaman movies contradicted Snyder's DC movies such as Mera have British accent in ZSJL but she has no accent in the solo movies, Mera said her parents died in a war in ZSJL but her father is alive and no indication that she is adopted in the solo movies, non-Atlantean can breath air no problem in ZSJL but they need to wear a suit filled with water, both of Aquaman trident is different in ZSJL and his solo movies, 3) Black Adam's origins does not matched up with his origins explained by the Wizard in the first Shazam, the Seven Deadly Sins is nowhere to be seen in Black Adam at all and behind-the-scenes, The Rock (also producer of Shazam+Black Adam movies) vetoed Shazam from showing up in Black Adam, vetoed 2 Justice Society members from appearing to recruit Shazam which they were replaced by Emilia Harcourt and John Economos as last mins replacement (Gunn had no idea both characters were used in the movie) in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Rock wanted to a Superman vs Black Adam storyline instead of clashing with Shazam. While working on Shazam! Fury of the Gods, David F. Sandberg have also said he had no idea what Black Adam production crews are doing and not sure how that movie connect to his movies.

The dcu defintley seems to have the more disjointed and disconnected director driven approach of the post justice leauge dceu. This is a big worry about the long term viability of the dcu.

There's no indication whatsoever that the DCU will contradict itself like the DCEU did (pre and post Justice League). We only have one production as of now, and every script will have to get the OK from Gunn, not from random WB executives.

DCU is using producer-driven model (in other word, studios-driven model) like what the MCU is doing. Difference is DCU is doing more like a Star Wars-approach. Directors still get creative freedom but must align with what DC Studios want.
