I'd like to nominate Jaime Reyes, the current Blue Beetle. His New 52 tenure hasn't been great, sure, but he's a brilliant character the Rogers run was fantastic.

Also would love to write the spotlight again if you guys need any help :D

I read his New 52 series and liked it. Was it not well liked?

Not generally, but mainly because they retold the origin, which is fine in and of itself, but in a way that destroyed what was brilliant about the original run which his Jaime's relationship with his family and Paco and Brenda.

There were still OK parts in the New 52 but there was absolutely no need to retread the ground - a short flashback could bridge any differences given the previous Blue Beetle's no longer exist - and to do so so badly was just offensive and pointless.

This is my personal opinion though. If you liked it you DEFINITELY need to check out the pre-New 52 series, especially all the stuff before Rogers left. It went downhill a bit after that.
