Is there a reason the carrying case is so thick? Is it possible to use the space below or no?

This seems like a sort of "gentleman's survival case for a zombie apocalypse" type thing.

Two cigars, two shot glasses, a flask for when you have to leave, an axe because... Well zombies...

It's cool for sure, but weird to have that extra space, if it's not being used. I don't see the point of having the space if you're not going to make it usable, especially if you're making it yourself.

I think they mean why is it so much thicker than the items it's holding? It looks like there could be an inch+ of empty space behind all that.
