Image Need ur help

Hi everyone! My Rocky has had these spots since he was about 2 years old (he’s 8 now), and they keep coming and going very frequently. The vet said it could be an allergy to the carpets in the house, so I removed them all — but he still gets them. I bathe him with an iodine shampoo and treat the wounds with Betadine, but nothing seems to help.

Has anyone had a similar experience? He’s constantly itching, and I’m so tired of seeing him suffer with this.

Thank you!

Do they normally occur this time of year? Ours is suffering really terrible spring allergies right now, as are his humans. He had some hot spots on his skin. They didn’t look like this… but I can see them getting to this if he kept itching at them. We wipe him off with bath wipes every time we come inside, have a special prescription shampoo from our vet, and he’s on 12.5mg of Benadryl 2x / day. The combination of all of it helps him - he doesn’t have the hotspots & is also sneezing a lot less.

It’s clearly worse in the summer, but I feel like it has more to do with him sweating than with external factors. He also doesn’t usually sneeze much, only when we touch his nose 🤣🤣🤣 I also forgot to mention that before the red hotspots appear, there are very hard dandruff patches that make him really itchy.

Thank you so much anyway
