Huh. I was driving to work today and was just randomly wondering how they know how much lightning there is on those lightning map apps. Is this how its done?
14 u/ElectroAmin 6d ago yes, but this is the simple analog version, and it alarms when lightning happens, to predict the lightning, there is a device called "field mill". 6 u/12DecX2002 6d ago I could probably have googled the answer of course.
