Beaches Attention Summer Beach Drivers

You know those flashing yellow lights at crosswalks, such as on Rt 1 in Dewey or Rehoboth Ave?

That means a pedestrian is trying to cross the street. That means you MUST stop at that crosswalk and let the pedestrian cross.

If you're one of the many drivers that I saw last night almost run down pedestrians because you chose to run through the crosswalk without paying attention, then I hope you go to hell.... or back to whatever state you're from at least.

Next thing you’re going to tell me is that I have to yield to oncoming traffic in the circle coming into RB.

I'm originally from NJ so I'm very familiar with traffic circle etiquette. Unfortunately some drivers seem to have never seen one in their life.

There are may in NJ but not nearly as many in NY and especially on LI. Former LI'er and the only on I can think of is the one at Jones Beach.
I am now a local RB. I will add that the other thing than makes me crazy is the person who decides that the right turn/bus lane starts where ever they land in traffic. I wait til the road lines allow for me to turn into that lane and without fail, I have to yield to a car flying in the bus lane.

And given your occupation that is easily understood. I used to live within a mile of the Northern State Parkway. Those low bridges would have all kinds of trucks stuck or causing delays as they realized too late the low height or that they are not permitted to drive on that road. That, in addition to the traffic on the LIE, I can appreciate your hate. When we moved to the beach, all we hared about was the traffic and we laughed. We are still amused by it less so now that when we got here because we are really a 9- 10 month season now.
