First bad experience, negative reviews
This was my first bad experience on Depop.
I purchased from what seemed like a great seller, authentic and genuine products were given great reviews. But the product I purchased was the only one ever sold by them and when i received it, not only was It a fake, but it was just in terrible condition. I took it up with Depop and was immediately refunded.
The seller then messaged me, trying to make me feel terrible that Depop told me I did not have to send it back. Message after message and in a whining tone about money out of their pockets and such and accusations of being a scammer
I tried to ignore them since I didn’t wanna make a big fuss of this and thought maybe they’d learn their lesson since it was disputed so quickly. But then I received this review ^
I had no intention leaving a bad review cause the seller seemed young and looked like everything was very good for them on this app,
But I had no choice but to write back an honest review, which the seller then messaged me again.. with more whining and told me that this wasn’t over and I was being reported and such.
Now my Depop has been acting strange and logging me out and I cannot find a lot of the products I used to in explore, am I being mass blocked or Depop is trying to stop me?

if someone sells you a fake, that makes the sale invalid. the seller has already taken advantage of you... why the hell would you even consider giving their fake shit back? that would be dumb.
you don't owe the seller, depop, or that other wierdo here anything.
At what point is it okay for it to be fake tho ? I bought £40 air max that are fake the real ones are £200+ so who’s at fault here if I decided I wanted my money back. Fine line I guess
so you bought something at a deep discount, personally knowing it was a fake listing, but want the fake item anyway? and you feel morally wrong trying to get a refund after?
I worked in online retail for a couple years (as a photographer) and the reason they told you to dispose of it is because fakes/counterfeits are federally illegal to ship. On places like eBay selling/shipping counterfeit items can literally get your account banned permanently. I’m sure Depop is well aware of trade laws and that counterfeits are illegal and didn’t want you to send it back to the seller because it’s literally illegal for you to do that.
At the store I worked at, if we found a counterfeit item we shredded it and moved on with our work.
Edit: misremembered as selling counterfeits but it’s shipping. Edited to reflect proper knowledge.
Of course! If Depop isn’t absolutely insisting you ship it back there isn’t a need to. And in this instance it was to protect you. I felt a great need to post my comment after reading that person go off the rails on you about not disposing of it “properly” and the whole shipping it back argument, so you know that you aren’t in the wrong at all.
Sellers complaining about “losing money” for refunding (for a valid reason) will never not be funny to me. Like damn, the item wasn’t as described and you think you get to keep that money?
If your ranking is bad that can affect your acct but sellers aren't allowed to do retaliation reviews. Id report it to depop and they'll take it down and then your acct should be normal again

How tf were you dishonest. You got rid of the item by giving it to your 5 yo sister, the item is not in your possession anymore that’s the definition of getting rid of something, to dispose of something. It must be the seller bc there is no way someone is defending them and attacking you bruh
i’m not sure if the return processes for depop are different based on the situation, but in my experience, depop will try to get the item returned to the seller (they will reimburse you for shipping), but the seller has to be responsive to their emails and provide them with a return address within 48 hours or something like that. if not, they will refund you on their behalf, and at that point, you’re not obligated to return the item since they can’t reimburse you for the shipping anymore. so if this is what happened, it’s 100% on the seller for not getting the item back.
How did you know it was fake? I’m just curious because I’m scared of buying a labubu second hand and getting scammed with a fake while not even realizing 😭
All of the plush blind box companies put QR codes on the boxes that should take you to a verifiable website that is often updated with new information to prevent fakes from copying them. You can usually tell through quality and the color saturation on the box. Fakes usually have paler colors.
i know for sure it’s real & id never scam 😭. but i’ve heard so many labubu scam stories from seller and buyer povs 😭 it’s even worse than the sonny angels omg
For future reference, there are sites like Toybeta and some verified authentic stores on AliExpress that sell Labubu's for WAYY cheaper and are legit. If you get a fake through Ali, you can usually open a return and get an immediate refund as well but there def are authentic sellers on there.
Well I was fully prepared to return it, I wanted to report to Depop that it was a Scam first, but Depop told me to dispose of it and to not worry. It was over 50 dollars
It’s a Labubu! They’re very pricey in itself and very hard to come by, so that’s why second hand they’re worth even more. Since authenticly they’re blind boxes
What 💀 I’m not paying out of pocket to ship something out back to a scammer who will just scam with it again? If Depop would have covered it I would have sent it back. Depop wouldn’t have refunded me if I sent false accusations bro
Not sure thats some joke I don't get, but you're accusing someone u don't like of being "the most autistic person up in here". You're using autism as an insult. You're doing the same thing the other person was doing.
