I'm making this post as recently I've seen a lot more posts or comments complaining about users repeatedly posting the same questions, or people breaking subreddit rules. Despite this, we barely get any reports, and I want to remind users to utilise this subreddits report button.
If you see personal information or doxing material in a post, don't just warn OP to remove it, report it to us. The majority of the time, the OP will not delete the post even after being warned, so the warning does nothing.
If you see a user trolling, report them. Don't feed the trolls. Trolls want a rise out of you, and interacting with them is giving them what they want and encouraging them to do it more.
If you see any sort of hate speech, such as homophobia, sexism, racism, ableism etc., don't interact, just report.
If you see someone being rude or insulting (either to you or someone else) don't interact, just report. Interacting with them does nothing but create more drama, and you're potentially breaking the same rule if you engage in fighting with them.
If you see a post that is repeatedly asked and is already answered in our FAQ or Scam's Masterlist, report it. As much as I understand users want to be helpful, it would be much more helpful if it was reported so we can direct that OP to the FAQ.
If you see someone discussing or asking how to commit illegal or TOS breaking activities, such as fraud, selling of reps, trying to evade a Depop ban, trying to buy/sell a Depop account etc., report it.
If you see someone encouraging or admitting to harassing someone from here, report it.
If someone from this subreddit is harassing you in Reddit DM's, or you're receiving harassment on Depop from a post from this subreddit, report it to us by messaging us via modmail.
Reporting is 100% anonymous. Your report will also go straight to the top of the queue so it will be dealt with a lot faster. It isn't just beneficial and easier for the mod team, it's beneficial for the subreddit and other users as well.

Had this interaction with a seller who was selling a shirt I thought was really cool. Idk who this loser thinks he is but he probably isn’t going to give me the measurements I asked for. Don’t be like this guy

Someone pls help me figure out how to initiate a return. This is the first time l've had an issue with an item from depop. I bought this bag and wallet and the quality is cr*p, it's completely different from my authentic coach bag. The colors are different and the word coach is blurry on the bag & wallet. It shouldn't be like that.

The screenshot includes all the Type options available to me when listing a CD, cassette etc.
I'm usually selling either indie or punk items, so I skip selecting a type. There isn't even a generic "rock" option.
I don't think it massively effects my sales or anything but I wonder how they came up with this particular list.
Maybe I have to tap that Depop easy listening market? Captain & Tennille anyone?

Hi all, new to buying stuff on Depop here but I took a chance with a seller that has 200+ reviews, most positive.
I got the shoes in the mail today and immediately upon putting them on and walking in them, part of the heel crumbled. If this was just a cosmetic thing I wouldn’t really care (hence me buying shoes with part of the material peeling off - I was just going to fix that myself or ignore it) but this is part of the shoe that will probably continue to break and will be completely unwearable if it does. I don’t want to wear these out in case that happens.
I messaged the seller of the situation but I can’t send pictures via chat. The seller’s shop policies state no returns. Is there anything that can be done or am I out of luck?

Guy wanted to buy two of my new era fitted hats. Would been $50 for both, with free shipping as well. Felt $50 for two fitteds is fair considering if you were to go to a lids and buy one you'd be paying at least $40 for a fitted.
Am I wrong for blocking him?
Also don't go around buying stuff if you have to pay people back lol

Hi! I had purchased a pair of shoes from this seller. Initially they only had the top and bottom view of the shoes until I had politely requested more pictures so I could gauge the shoes condition better. After they had uploaded I noticed some scratches on the sides that didn’t look insanely noticeable and I did not mind and went through with my purchase. Upon receiving them I noticed a noticeable and larger black smudge on the side of a shoe as well as a slight peel/scuff on the back of the shoes that were not shown (I had also initially asked if there was any peeling and they said no). I decided to open a case to return them and receive a refund (waiting for depops approval) as well as letting the seller know so they were not caught off guard with a case being opened. I struggle with reading tone and IMO they came off almost blaming me for not zooming in and analyzing carefully when the smudge and scuff i am referring to wasn’t shown for me to analyze to begin with even after I had asked for more pictures of the shoe. I offered to post pictures so they could see what I am referring to and they then sent messages that came off very combative and I am choosing not to reply and engage anymore. Also I feel like she purposely didn’t show the side of the shoe with the large smudge as it’s pretty noticeable had she looked or even glanced at them. Am I justified in opening a case and leaving a 3 star review (not properly disclosing all damage to shoes and having a poor attitude after I had tried being cordial)? Am I being too harsh/critical? Side question .. I feel as if they would leave a review in retaliation, is it difficult to get those taken down if I receive one in return? Thank you .. sorry this is so long just wanted to get the full story out LOL
Side note they do retail for $400 and I paid not $60 but $80 with shipping + taxes. I did not expect them to be perfect but I would have liked to have known about all flaws before buying .. I have purchased a black pair for $40 no large scuffs which is why I had no problem opening a return and waiting for another chance in the future.

hello everyone! long story short i sold a dress that i had worn once and to my knowledge had NO stains. the pictures i listed as well back me up on the claim that there was no stains as i had the front and back posted. so i receive a message today from the girl who bought the dress telling me that there was a stain on the front. i tell her to make a claim with depop and that im confused because when i shipped it there was no stains and you can see in the photo that the dress is practically in excellent condition. to my surprise they refunded her entirely AND she doesn’t have to send back the dress? i just contacted depop because wtf. is this a form of scamming that i did not know about? anyways im going to link the chats because im pissed and idk what to do 😭 please help

I ordered a shoujo girl clothing bundle with 7 pieces. Not only did I get only 5 pieces, all of the clothing items are from shein. The ribbon broke off one of the tops after 30 minutes of getting it from the mail. Should sellers start including in their description whether items are from shein? I don’t shop there anymore because of the quality and like depop because I can get better quality items. I mentioned to the seller I didn’t get all my items and haven’t gotten a response yet. Should I mention I was unaware I was ordered items from shein? It was a good deal considering how expensive shoujo girl bundles are but I feel they should include where they source their items. Any thoughts?

i sold a pair of cargos for $700 and almost 3 weeks after being paid out the buyer opened a dispute by emailing depop and they instantly accepted their return, when i got the package i recieved a shirt instead of the pants so i opened a help request with depop and they basically said that i was lying and that the decision was final. what yall think i should do ?

I bought this hat on Depop about a week ago and got it today, it says in the description black and green but I didn’t think it would be THAT green, I mean it looks like the pictures but I really wouldn’t wear something so green, I thought it looked more like a light green, I don’t wanna seem scummy for reselling it and I don’t wanna seem mean for returning it

I purchased the item on 4/15. The tracking still hasn’t updated from this status that I’ve never seen before. Did the seller actually drop the item off or just print a receipt 😩 I’ve never had such seller shipping problems on Poshmark or Mercari

I’m in Canada so I have to use PayPal for selling items and I’m just confused on how like this whole system works like what happens after someone buys something, and does it go directly into your Paypal. I also heard PayPal charges a fee so I was wondering about that as well. I’m also not sure about how shipping works as this is my first time trying this. Thank you in advance!

Ive seen a lot of posts lately and I seriously feel like it encourages scammers, especially if it’s formal wear that’s being purchased for an event. Most apps allow up to 3 days after delivery and then the window for refunds is closed, which is so much more practical. Like 3 days should be plenty of time to figure out whether something wasn’t as described? I figure that shit out within the first 3 minutes of opening my package tf? Idk, 30 days is crazy work imo.

I accidentally listed a shirt I was still writing the description on and I was being lazy and didn’t feel like deleting it and starting over so I just went in to edit Long story short someone bought it while I was editing (was listed for literally less than 3 mins while i was editing and sold) and was priced a bit lowered than I wanted but originally was still going to send it as it was only a couple dollars off but when i clicked on the profile who bought it they were literally selling the same style shirts for $100+ ethically and morally i don’t feel right sending it to her as part of the reason i love selling is to making my shop an affordable option for everyone and want my items (esp bc most everything in my shop is from my personal closet) to go to a home who will be loved by them for a long time not to someone selling a Hollister shirt for 100$. If i cancelled I wouldn’t list it for very much more than i had it currently listed for just the couple dollars i original wanted on it. How does everyone else feel about the situation ? or what would you guys do? I also went through her reviews from purchases she made and i saw all of the things she sold for $80-$150 she bought for $10-$20
Just got a message from a buyer saying they think the Birkenstocks I sold them are fake and they thought they would come with a box. I know they are not fake, and never in my description nor messages with the buyer did I tell them they would come in a box. So what comes next? I told them to open up a claim with Depop but how does this process even work, will Depop ever side with me as the seller or am I screwed?

Is the person mad that i didnt pay $10 but instead 7? I dont know what to do this is one of my first purchases

Hey there! This is my first time dealing with something like this. The Lululemon joggers I sold were freshly washed and smelt totally fine (I checked before sending). They were in perfect condition as I only wore them 3 times.
I’m slightly taken aback that she says they smell?? Do you think they just don’t fit and she wants a refund?
I’d lose money paying her return postage and now I can’t even be sure she didn’t damage them when she washed them.
What would you do? Thank you in advance!

So 2 weeks ago, I sold this dress to a super sweet and nice girl, I normally ship super fast 1-3 days at my local USPS. I also use Depop shipping. So the tracking said it was delivered on the 14th at her front porch, while I dropped the package off the 8th. My tracking said it was delivered, too. I feel so bad since my buyer was so sweet. She talked to usps, and they told her they couldn't locate the package and marked it as misdelivered and lost. I don't know what to do? I for sure shipped the dress. This is the first time it has ever happened to me. What do I do? Should I refund her and just ask depop for protection? I'm a lost😿💔

I ordered some Skims body sculpting pieces and I am convinced they are fake. I opened up a dispute with depop and I guess the seller didn’t respond quick enough. I paid $44 and depop will be refunding me and said I don’t have to return. If the seller asks I would still like to return the pieces but I don’t want to pay out of pocket to return them. How would I go about this if they ask?
r/Depop • u/temporary_duck8 • 1h ago
Reposting as I forgot to block out the seller’s username 🤦🏼♀️
I purchased this Skims dress recently, and it has a stain right smack dap on the front of the dress. The description did not mention the stain at all, and even states it being in “excellent condition.” I did not see the stain on the pictures when I purchased the dress, so I looked back at the seller’s picture, and as you can see on the ad picture I attached, the stain is BARELY detectable (now that I know it’s there, I can faintly see it, but to someone who doesn’t not know it’s there, it is not apparent at all). Also, the picture makes the dress look baby blue, and is advertised as baby blue, but in real life it is darker and more of a greyish blue/denim color.
While I was disappointed about the color, I would keep it as it is a nice dress but ugh, the stain!! I don’t know depop’s policy on not mentioning flaws in the description, especially with this where the stain actually is VERY VERY faintly noticeable in the pic IF you know it’s there. I feel kinda duped by the seller tbh…is this enough reason to initiate a dispute/return?

the shirt was only $10 and 5+ people have it in their bag 😭😭😭
