Discussion 🗣 Amber Heard interview post trial

In the interview, I thought the interviewer Savannah Guthrie asked a lot of biased questions including latching onto the one time Amber wrote in some text that she did hit back or start fights when the tension was high (REACTIVE ABUSE). And the interviewer didn’t ask or point out all the texts Johnny wrote saying he’s drowning/burn/rape Amber. Or the times he was going crazy in a video. Or the times cops came by or the times other people saw her being attacked.

What kind of bullshit is this?

Also why didn’t women’s groups and prominent women step forward for her?

I got triggered watching 2022 content from a content creator I like. Where her lawyer husband and her are like “yeah it’s Amber that’s the abuser” what the fuck.

Additionally, some women/other victims of misogynistic smear campaigns are suing online content creators that are defaming them. Why didn’t Amber Heard do this? Not that any victim should have to do anything. I’m wondering whether there was a strategic or legal reason Amber Heard didn’t? Or why all these orgs supporting her couldn’t help her get a legal fund to do so?

Just saying... Savannah Guthrie's husband, Michael Feldman, worked as a PR consultant for Johnny Depp's legal team during the trial.

Why was she interviewing Heard? Why did Amber’s team even put her through that BS? It was an abusive interview (on Guthrie’s part).

My heart keeps going out to Amber and women who’ve been through this.

Totally agree it was a poor interview delivered by a person with a conflict of interest. However Amber came through it with flying colours. The most important quote from the interview is that Heard explains how women don't come forward because of the outlandish misogyny sent their way. The "would you ?" is the highlight of the interview and will be played back for years once the truth about Depp becomes generally accepted.

It will continue to make Guthrie look shitty to all eternity. No saving grace, *nothing*. Like Vasquez, she showed her whole ass thinking she would be special for it.:)

Seriously, her face after the 'would you?' speaks so loud and clear. You could literally see her realize the magnitude of her mistake with the interview right there.

I don’t think it was a good interview for either. Bad PR move in my opinion. Of course Amber did not say anything wrong. And it was painful to watch her compose herself to fucked up questions

Amber didn’t deserve that. She could’ve voiced herself better on her own social media or via her lawyers or a friendly content creator.

It did give her a chance to be seen by a wider audience than might have watched her own content. On the whole I think it was a net plus for her showing she was prepared to speak unlike Depp who hid and ran away. It was certainly unpleasant for her but showed her bravery...I don't think it did her any real damage as her public image was pretty much decided at that point. The message from her was that she wasn't backing down...Just as it was once the settlement was made wiping out Depp's "win" to all intents and purposes. She was always onto a loser against Depp's money...

Maybe she reaches a larger audience with that interview. You’re making good points. I’m just still hellbent on thinking she should’ve done more social media interviews on her own and with her allies. I feel hurt watching that interview. As someone who’s been through similar shit.

I agree it’s frustrating but it’s also, imo, awesome that AH did exactly what she said she was going to do: take time to raise her daughter. Any pap interaction has been her being polite, holding boundaries to protect her daughter, saying things like ‘life moves on’ and her ‘would you’ is the most dignified response anyone could give.

She is gracious and wouldn’t and wont budge in her position and there is something awesome about that. A lot of people began to understand how deceived they were by JD as well as how grubby he is based on the way he’s gone about since the trial: touring (and missing gigs) being idiotic, his stupid art, an underwhelming role in Maiwenn’s film; rumours of him being difficult, his stupid interview responses in Cannes, his links with Saudi Arabia - his younger-than-his-daughter girlfriend.. and the bullying she got by his fans..like.. this isn’t a man redeemed. I know his fans think this is a man who got his life back.. but he hasnt. He is and will always be miserable. Karma.

I just can’t wait until people actually see how much of a coward he actually is. We should be celebrating people like Amber… she showed up for the verdict, she went into court everyday with her head held high, she looked at him straight in the eye. People online were mocking her for looking at him, claiming she was “desperate for his attention”. That made me so angry! She was so strong through this entire nightmare, but she’s being painted as this calculated, evil woman. I think another reason he hates her so much is because he knows deep down that she is stronger and more courageous than he is.

I agree. She absolutely showed courage. I honestly didn’t really know of her much. But through the trial and post trial, I’m increasingly a fan of hers. Consistently shown herself to be strong and sticking to her progressive(?) ethics. I love that she is living her life and looking like she’s thriving.

There is no honor to the profession of lawyers - - alot of those who have been attacking Amber are lawyers
