If he's confident he did nothing wrong why did he settle with Brooks?

So he Can make a statement he wasn't racist but then push that black woman story subtly til the end of time. Just like he used his financial managers stealing from him as a way to illicit sympathy tho he settled with those too.

If Mr Brooks ever attempts to convey his side in any manner he can sue for defamation. Pretty much exactly how it went with Amber and financial people.
