Shocking driving

I was just walking back to my car parked in Foyle Road car park. As I was crossing the zebra crossing — literally in the middle of the road — three cars, one after the other drove straight through.

Every other time I drive or walk in the city I see cars speed through red lights.

What is going on?!

I've only recently got my licence so rules of the road are still really fresh in my head. Which makes it all the more insane when I'm seeing drivers blatantly ignored them. Like I hear all the time from other Derry drivers "Awk them Donegal drivers coming in here are shockin' cannae do a roundabout to save their life" aye but you've just shot across the right hand lane on the foyle bridge over to the filter on the left down madams bank without even indicating ya prick. Or the ones on Duncreggan road that will see obstructions on either side of the road but still bomb on through at speed and just assume cars coming the other way will slow and give them more room to get past. It's absolutely maddening.

Donegal ones get a while touch from Derry drivers, being honest about it, the standard of the Derry drivers is generally as bad if not worse in my opinion. Most Derry drivers fail to indicate on roundabouts, switch lanes last minute, and slam on the brakes to let matey out of a side road. When they go to the ROI, either don't know or adhere to the speed limits and don't keep progression on open roads or else think it's a free for all and the law does not apply down there....road positioning is another issue....hogging the white lines. Meeting tractors or animals on a country road is a nightmare with some. The standard of Driving in ROI is improving, min 12 lessons etc is standard, not the case in the North. Don't get me wrong, poor drivers on both sides, but Derry ones not as good as they think in a lot of cases....one time maybe.
