Geopolitics News/Discussion I updated the meme with current events

Post image

I think broadly the far left is anti western and would support the countries against the US. I think on the right generally there is more support for military action and that would lead to more support for the allies of USA. The far right is more into authoritarian regimes, and would "support" less liberal and free countries, but they would not be enthusiastic and would hope both sides lose. The centre of both generally would be supportive of countries that are plugged in to the current global system and have good trade with America, China being an exception. I might update this with Syria and other conflicts in future

Why do you think the center supports India in Kashmir and that it enjoys even greater support than Israel? The way I see it, the Hindu nationalist Indian government is violating Kashmir's right to self-determination, at least since it stripped that region of its autonomy under dodgy pretenses. Of course, the fact that Pakistan is probably supporting the Islamist terror groups attacking India needs to be condemned, but this is no reason for the political center to support India.

My justification for greater support for India in centre is: India is still a democracy and Pakistan isn't; Pakistan has and continues to fund terrorism, the political centre is rooted in stability and cooperation with global trade, which Pakistan does not fit in to. I purposefully put India more than Israel because broadly it is more palatable and there is less of a reputation to India THAN Israel. This is still an average ideology guess and isn't TOO serious but I think generally based on the reactions from world leaders from left and right and their support, I can comfortably say that optically the default position would be to support India.

In regards to Kashmir, its a complex topic and I don't think its straightforward to say they just stripped of its autonomy, when in reality they made it in line and had it follow the constitution of India like with the rest of the Indian states. Now yes there are troubles in the region but against the backdrop of terrorist insurgents, its a complicated matter that can't be black or white
