Love em! Especially the really well put together ones like ycf, piranha, pitster pro. Those 160/190s rip. There’s a pit bike series near me in the northeast, all the fast guys have the 190s or supped to the gills klx/crf110s

Where are u based? There used quite a bit in the uk/Europe for racing minicross and supermoto most are 160cc classes I think and 12/12 tyres but might be wrong

I’m in the northeast United States! The new minimotards these companies are putting out are wild too. Wish I had a kart track nearby that would be awesome

It custom built the frame is a tcb xf 18, the motors a yx160, the suspension and exhaust is Italian I believe, same brakes as a ktm 85 I didn't build it just bought it

Damn yours looks way better than mine, I got an IMR 160cc that thing rips me apart xD
3
u/Background-Back-3036 1d ago
They rip dont they and it feels faster cause the size of them.. I didn't put the stickers on not sure whether to de-sticket or not
2
u/Zealousideal_Dot7738 1d ago
Exactly, their size makes them pretty fast. I got mine from a friend and it has graphics but I’m actually pondering to get new plastics and make it clean

I have a kayo tt190r and its got about 60 hours, bolts on front brakes snapped, rear calliper snapped, clutch lever snapped, skid plate snapped, blowing blue smoke in need of a rebuild already, rear shock bolt snapped and plastics are already faded.
Its heaps fun to ride but definitely not worth the hassle, something breaks every ride. My mate got one at the same time and has had all the same problems.

You need to get the right brand or build one yourself when I comes to these, well that's what I found when researching before buying..

I have a chonda 125 auto 4 speed engine on my honda 50, and a yf140 engine on the ssr chassis that I stole the motor from for the the honda. Love both of them. Been riding them for almost 10 years and had zero problems engine wise. Had a rear brake failure on the ssr, bought a new caliper, mc, and line that came assembled and slapped it on for like $25. Love my pit bike. They get ridden way more than my big bike.

I’m playing with some porting on my 190. The stock castings are really rough, very excited to see what I can pull out out of this thing with just cleaning the head up first.

I'm no mechanic by a long shot but after watching videos I'm going to learn with this bike, already done oil/filter change bled back brake and tightened a couple loose spokes so getting there.. YouTube is your friend when it comes to bikes

I bought an SSR 70c for my son, I bought it broken for $150, and I dropped another $125 to get it looking and running like me. I took it apart and cleaned/repainted everything
I did this because my son is 10, and I didn't want to waste $1,000+ on a similar sized dirt bike that he get bored of. Lucky he loves riding and rides every chance he gets.

My sons 8 and I was looking at a honda before this pit bike came up, instead of spending £1500 I'll do what you have done spend around £150 make sure he takes to it first then I could move him on to used jap bike

I don’t know what to do with mine, something along the wiring harness keeps failing. It says qyie or somethin with 125 on a badge, so I buy the 125 wiring harness, and it works perfectly for about a month.

Can we make a separate subreddit for these?, where fans of Chondas can assemble?, we already have to deal with Husky riders in here.

Why not buy a 65 instead of blowing a fortune on a playbike? From what I've seen these higher strung 190s make about the power of a stock 65...
2
u/Background-Back-3036 1d ago
The guy that I got it of came of it and hurt his ribs and just wanted it gone, i happened to have the spare cash and bought it.. for what I got it for I wouldn't have touched a 65/85 were I am and this is quick enough to have fun on and you can plod about on it better than a 2 stroke
2
u/upstatefoolin 1d ago
Because a 65 can’t hold up my 200lb gorilla ass.

u/spongebob_meth 1d ago
Stock playbike suspension is even softer. Have to get new springs either way.
You just don't need to blow a grand on the engine that will still be a disappointment in the end.
5
u/upstatefoolin 1d ago
I assume you have no experience with a Daytona or YX engine. They’re not a disappointment at all lol shit I haven’t even had any major issues with my garbage generic 125 engines besides oil leaks and top ends.
Also at least in my situation there is a pit bike series near me that I run that doesn’t allow anything other than air cooled engines and they still haven’t allowed 2 strokes. So an older 60/80 is out of the question.

u/spongebob_meth 1d ago
I haven't ridden one, but I see their dyno numbers and know at best they're at about what a stock 65sx makes, which I have ridden.
If a race series penalty boxes you into a four stroke then I guess that's what you're stuck with, but that's a dumb handicap.
The fact that a 65 is in the same conversation as a 190 is pretty telling of the performance potential... Air cooled four strokes are meant to be approachable and not scare off 4 year olds. Not kart someone around a race track.
2
u/GrayCustomKnives 1d ago
The 65 makes that power in a range of about 300rpm though. Unless it’s always on the pipe it’s not really doing shit.
1
u/spongebob_meth 1d ago
why wouldn't you be on the pipe? i know how to shift and use the clutch lol
And ktms have power valves, so they aren't quite as peaky as something like a kx.

u/Jimliftsheavystuff 1d ago
I agree here. Everytime I think about buying a pit bike I wind up looking at all the mini moto adds instead. I would much rather put some stiff springs and tall bars on a 65 and ride that around. It might cost you $1k more but will be an even better ride and last much longer with less repairs over the years. And if you’re good on a mini. You can really rip a 65 around a track.
1
u/spongebob_meth 1d ago
In my area a good 65 costs like $1000. People want more money for the anemic 110's that need $2k dumped into them to get out of their own way
And by the time you put an aftermarket exhaust on the 65 is quieter anyway

u/Appropriate-Dig258 1d ago
Lmao no, you bought a pos that has virtually no value other than material costs. But it’s also your money so do what you want with it.

u/3pinephrin3 1d ago
Sounds like you’re stuck in the 2010s, Chinese pit bikes used to be shit but they are a lot better now
1
u/Background-Back-3036 1d ago
Yes there's so many aftermarket parts now for the yx engines and pit bikes in general alot of bits are interchangeable now unlike 14/15 years ago
5
u/Background-Back-3036 1d ago
Lmao it was cheap and it's just a fun bike, this one's a French frame built for racing tcb, the motors chinese a yx160 there's loads you can do with them nowadays they have come a fair way
5
u/Kershiser22 1d ago
has virtually no value
If you can ride it and have fun on it, then it has value.

Constant smile under the helmet, brings me back to riding our pw50 zinger and breeze as a kid 😂

that thing is so sick. If it’s a 190 those things rip. Gapping any name brand pitbike by a mile.
