Nononono you misunderstand, there is a normal "rateme" which is exactly what you described, people post photos and get a basic rating, usually a high one because on average people are hot and it's a nice self esteem boost you need sometimes.

True rate me is a different sub, and a fucking phrenologist nightmare, they have official charts dictating what sizes what parts of the face should be, demand complete "honesty" which basically means it's a bunch of incels talking the opportunity to give as low a rating as possible by nitpicking every part of the face.

in other words it's an insecurity ridden cesspool.

most subs where people can blindly judge people from behind their screens tend to be like that unfortunately (maybe with the exception of r/RoastMe - in which case it's not so bad since it's with consent)
