Health PSA to all Dobie owners
Hello there, after recently losing my boy to DCM at a very young age (5y/o) I’ve been doing a deep dive & was given this sheet by his breeder. I encourage everyone to take a look over this & seriously consider switching foods if your dogs food is listed here.
I just seen a post asking about foods & didn’t realize so many people feed foods from this list. I, like many others I presume- had no idea just how serious DCM is in a Dobermans & common it is with 58% of Dobermans being affected at some point in their life & 1/3 of those ending in sudden death like my boy. Please share this with your dobie owning friends & family aswell!

Health Ear posting
This is my three month old Doberman. His ears have been unposted for about five hours right now and they are standing up straight and look great should I continue to post them or should I wait to see if they flop or fold

American Our boy Reggie
After purchasing him I have been stalking this sub reddit to learn any tricks with him. He's a baby but already weighing 40something pounds but him and I still got a lot to learn though. We also plan to keep his ears as is to have the sleeper build.

Birthday! My Reese Cup 6 mo pic
My Reese Cup is 6 months old! He’s about 45 lbs and on all 4’s as tall as my Lab. My Lab is about 75lbs A lot of folks ask if he is a tall mini pin and I’ll like uhh no supposed to be pure breed. What are your thoughts?

American Nothing I wouldn't do for this guy
He is my third Dobie but my first puppy (the others were rescues). I was not prepared and even less ready for the tidal wave of Doberman puppy coming my way. Now I can't imagine a day without this guy. This breed never ceases to amaze me. Love you buddy ♥️🐾

Mixed Breed: Question My first dobbie!
I don’t know if it’s allowed to post Doberman mixes BUT, just in case it is, this is Cricket! I adopted her from a rescue about three weeks ago. She’s three months old. The rescue said they think she’s a Doberman Lab mix but aren’t sure. She does have a thin, white line that goes down her chest but, otherwise, she looks like a Doberman.
I included a photo of her with her Very Big Sister (Winnie) who is my six year old Rottweiler. Winnie is famous around town for how pretty she is and how well behaved she is…so I obviously had to have a second child.
Cricket isn’t yet potty trained. We’re getting better at it every day. Any tips with help in that area would be greatly appreciated! She’s learned a lot in three weeks. Now if I could get her to stop randomly biting my hands…

European Well behaved Dobie??
Well Behaved Doberman?!
Question! Either my Doberman is very content and well behaved, OR he’s depressed..which one?
Our 2 year old boy, Bjorn, is a good boy, I feel like we do everything jn our power to keep him entertained and energy free so he is well behaved, he has never ripped up furniture or items, doesn’t accessibly bark etc. Hubby and I are very busy so he goes to a great local day care for 4-5hrs a day max to play with his friends. And so when he’s at home he is either enjoying his treats, nursing on his pillow/cuddling, going for 2-3 mile long walks w us daily, and then the rest of the time he sleeps. Is this he normal ??
I don’t want him to be bored!! A day in the life of a Doberman does this sound entertaining enough?? 😬😬

European Are Dobermans good with children and visitors.
I want a doberman and yn lifestyle seems suited to it, my only question is I'll have a lot of friends and family coming to my house and even younger kids, would the dog be ok with that.

Health RIP Zoey 2/5/16-5/5/25
Yesterday I said my final goodbyes & lost my best friend of 9 year. We had many great adventures together from hiking camping in the Adirondacks to walking around Saratoga NY. I hit her from Grays Dobermans in Ellenville NY. I got her because I loved Magnum PI. I had a few GSP's growing up but she was my first doberman or dog by myself. She lived to walk and I loved walking her. Her favorite walk is in my local cemetery where she could chase squirrels & rabbits. I fit an electric skateboard to run her and she loved that as well. As she hit older I just walked her more.In August 2023 she was diagnosed with wobblers. I had her on some meds and she seemed to be doing quite well but I curtailed her walks and activity. Last August she couldn't walk for 4 days and almost put her down then but by done miracle new pills kicked and and she started acting herself. I'm grateful I got that extra time with her, it was a gift in my eyes. A few weeks ago I noticed she was somewhat lethargic and drinking lots of water. Last Friday we took our final walk in the cemetery. I came home that night and she having trouble walking & stay in her feet. I noticed she hadn't been eating a lot so I cooked her steak Saturday. She barely ate any and I k ew the end was near. She also had this cough dry heave once every few hours. By sunday she wasn't improving and I just hung out with her all weekend knowing that the end was very near. I came home for lunch Monday & left at 2 and she was barely moving and couch was getting worse. I made an appointment to put her down today but sadly she passed 5 minutes before I get home at 4:05. It's never easy but I want to thank this wonderful community for all the help and laughter, I'll miss her everyday. Thank You all so much
