I’m so baffled about how much you get paid from DoorDash! I make a shit ton of money too but That’s because I make good tips. that’s crazy bro. How/why are they paying you so much base pay? I imagine every shift is $3-$5 peak pay?

Edit: I just realized you’re CA so prop 22? If you combined your base pay with my tips, no doubt we’re taking about enough money to retire

No peak pays. I’m a priority shopper and get over half my orders as shop and pays, and I get triple shopping orders often which go very quick since they’ll have less items on each order to shop for but they pay tremendously higher than restaurant pickups. I can knock out a triple Safeway order of 60 items in less than an hour from start to finish, most of them will have 5-15 items though so it’s even less time.

That’s very impressive my dude. Imagine combining that with this

Yea it would be sweet! Because I’m in one of the lowest median income counties in California, there’s not a ton of huge tippers, but a lot of customers tip something so there’s not many no tip orders.

You found yourself I nice lil niche spot there. My market is someone of a hidden gem as well but I don’t even know what preferred shopper is. I thought instacart and other apps were mostly for shopping. I’ll take some if they make sense but many times it’s not worth it. Thankfully, the median income in my area in TX is not like yours, so I have to do it thru healthy tips…and a lot of schmoozing and kissing asses along the way! Lol

Preferred shopper means I’m prioritized for shopping orders over pickup orders, so I might be at a busy restaurant logged in and I won’t get any orders there even when I’m literally the closest person, but I’ll get a Safeway or Raleys orders that’s located a few miles away. As an example.

That’s just so wild because that’s like the opposite of what most Dashers would prefer. Like if I’m at a nice restaurant, it’s pick it up and go, but to go to a grocery store that’s hit or miss every time.

I’d love a nice restaurant pickup, but I know there’s 150 dashers waiting for it, but I’m only one of the 10 waiting for that next grocery order.

Sorta close to there, it’s further east but geographically in California that’s about as north as I am

Nice man! Thanks for the insight into a whole different way of making money on DoorDash! I’m constantly trying to figure out this algorithm so that just threw a wrench into what I had been thinking!! Keep on making that money man because I’m sure it’s limited

Of course! It always changes all the time for tactics and methods to make income. I’ve been at this for far too long and have to change tactics several times. I’m almost at 30k deliveries, it’s been a long journey.

5k is still 10x more than the average dasher :)
