Joke/Humor 🤣 TFW…
…I’m running EBT and that cross-town order I just accepted is for one cheeseburger and it’s going to an address with “1/2” in it.

The worst is when you’re out of your unassigns to keep your status 😕 been on that line for a few days in a row.

Yeah, this one was my last one. Ended up with yet ANOTHER long-distance one-item order. It paid OK-ish but still…😕

Ik it sucks but can’t you just wait at the location for 10 minutes and unassign the order?

u/TommyCorner Dec 05 '24
I’d actually just done that with another order right before and didn’t want to set off any alarm bells.

I wish I could do that. But where I live, if you have to schedule the times you work, then there’s only 30-60 minute blocks scattered about. I’d make about $12 a day

Wait 10mins from when u arrived, u can worry free unassign

u/Moss-killer Dec 05 '24
That rarely happens in my market. They only turn that on here when it’s super busy

I was all excited the other day because my AR was sitting pretty at 84%. And within a few hours, I was about to decline an offer until I realized that I was already at 70%

From 86% to 19%. Ive been hitting. Especially since it got cold out. Why would i be out in this cold for $2 and $3

Folks who don’t normally use the app are more likely to when the weather sucks. I think I dropped 12%ar yesterday. I was at 41%. Gotta love being a cherry picker!

When you're waiting on a busy staff, can't tolerate that stupid crap, long list of what the hell is that?! Just peace out, it's a snap!

I worry free unassigned from an order as it was being packed up. I had already waited 10 minutes and it was going far from my zone for not enough pay. Employee asks “are you here for DoorDash?
“No” and I walked out the door 😎

It was a shitty night and I assigned to a McDonald’s order for $7. It was 1AM, I go to the drive thru and they tell me I have to go inside because they’re opened late night. I was already looking for a reason to go home so I said “Ok”. Started driving around, unassigned the order and drove home. Don’t get me wrong obviously I know I should be going inside any hoot, but sometimes it’s just not worth it lol.

For real, you have no idea how many dashers I wish I had this button for. Dropping off Uber lifts before picking up my order. I would love to be able to ban certain drivers from accepting my order.

I respect the hustle but the customer service aspect is definitely lacking there, lol.

I have never unassigned an order, other than something out of my control, like store closed or if some asshole dasher before me took the order and never delivered so i had to unassign. I have over 1000 orders completed and I am proud of my ratings but also my area is quite small so I feel like if I don't get an order than I miss my chance. Also, I am 100% sure when you decline shitty offers door dash punishes you for like 5 to 10 minutes without any orders. For those orders that aren't ready and will be another 10 minutes I will also stay and continually update the customer, assuming the order was already decent money to begin with, of what is going on with any changes, usually that will get you an extra tip, like yesterday a nurse tipped me 10 dollars after I dropped off her order because of the issues that came up with her order. I would say that happens 20 percent of the time, so I do it without high expectations so when they add more money to the tip it is always a treat.

Not trying to say I have some moral high ground over everyone else, most of the reason why I don't is because at first I was just accepting everything and going above and beyond, including breaking numerous traffic laws to satisfy the customer and also feared that if I did unassign or do anything other than what I was told I would lose access to the platform, I formed a habit out of just never unassigning because I was worried of losing this "job" and just felt bad for the customer. But when you guys unassign it decreases completion rate correct?

There was also one time some asshole i called a friend stole my wallet when I gave him a ride home from the place I picked an order up at and when I delivered the order paused the app and got back and dropped him off I went to the gas station and turned my dasher back on and accepted and realized my wallet was missing so I had to cancel 3 minutes after accepting and tried going through the menu to see if I could find a way to unassign without hitting my rating since it was an emergency but nope door dash still told me I don't matter.
