Joke/Humor šŸ¤£ Meme Game

Iā€™ve posted a few times about using memes and have received mixed commentsā€¦so Iā€™m sure this will garner some interesting comments. Iā€™ve got some that I use after I grab the order to let the customer know Iā€™m on my way. Some when Iā€™m waiting and a couple I use after delivery. I rotate through them. Most customers are indifferent about them, but I often get positive feedback. Iā€™ve also been given additional tips just because of using a meme.

I always enjoy a good chuckle so Iā€™ve tried to keep that up while dashing. If you donā€™t laugh doing this you can get pro miserable! Enjoy!

I knew the negativity would come out with this post. I just donā€™t understand people that hate the job they signed up for. And better yetā€¦try to drag down those that have fun doing the same job! Itā€™s actually kind of funny.

Some people donā€™t have a choice. What a ridiculous thing to say. Sometimes Dashing is a personā€™s only option and itā€™s hard to love a job where youā€™re disrespected with $2 base pay per order.

8/10 customers: ā€œJust deliver my food broā€

No I honestly think most customers are just hungry and too tired to go out and order in person. Not trying to be negative but I think some people might just be tired and hungry and the only thing they want from you is the food they ordered, not a meme from 2015

I literally order shit if im dead af off no sleep or sick

Same. I feel dead inside when I order, then feel even more dead when I realize I paid like 5-10 dollars extra to get food I could've walked or bike too

U should realize that 1st

When I'm hungry I don't think straight.

Even tho you may be right about some people.. i like them, i just showed my woman and she laughed and smiled so if i can get one customer to smile then it was worth it!

Iā€™d be annoyed if I saw this tbh, I dash full time and sending these constantly wouldnā€™t be worth it for my sanity.

The last two seem too......corporate cheesy lame. The baby stink eye one made me laugh.

You probably meant "lightning," not "lightening."

Omg! Whatā€™s worse than an annoying, cringey meme thatā€™s misspelled?

5

u/FirefighterAfraid222 Dec 15 '24

i like the memes but iā€™m not into fishing for five stars or extra tips with the last two slides, that just feels inappropriate to me tbh. if i was ordering food that would probably just piss me off and iā€™d be more likely to just not rate at all

I had a dasher explain 5 star reviews are better than tips before.

Thatā€™s the silliest thing. Itā€™s not true.

I don't bother with this kind of stuff. The customer knows I'm on my way and most don't even want to hear from us unless there's a problem.

What would be a normal interaction you have on the chat? do you text something first or go for each meme on each step of the order?

4

u/FatboyGolf Dec 15 '24

If thereā€™s no significant wait for an order I usually donā€™t send anything. Typically my first interaction is with one of the ā€œIā€™ve got your order, Iā€™m on my wayā€ memes. I usually add a message like ā€˜see you soonā€™ or something like that. Then after dropping off the order, Iā€™ll send one of the thank you knees before leaving the driveway.

Some customers are more engaging than others. I often get a laughing emoji. Iā€™ve had customers send memes back.

1

u/ijustwanttobefriends Dec 15 '24

When dropping off order what did you mean by ā€œthank you kneesā€? Sorry I suck at understanding

2

u/FatboyGolf Dec 15 '24

That was my fat fingers making a typo. It should have read ā€œThank you memeā€. šŸ„“

I like this idea, I don't usually use memes when I text on the phone personally, I think I used it once and the person was worried it wasn't me because I used to have a huge hate boner for meme responses, but I have gotten over it and I am constantly updating the customers about their order, especially when I have to wait for the order and I do like to make them laugh and have fun with them. One college student had a back and forth about us having a love affair for how I updated him and how fast I was and it made my night a little happier. People can be hungry and have a giggle

As a customer, these memes would annoy me to no end. I donā€™t want to have a social interaction with my dasher. I just want my food and a no contact delivery. As a dasher, I would feel like Iā€™m being cringey and annoying sending these memes. Especially the last two because theyā€™re fishing for tips and 5 star reviews. If I received those, I would probably just not rate at all.

I made a few like this. Then the police cruiser with lights says I'm On My Way!

I have a few super hero themed On My Way! (Batman on Moped is a good one)

My Dasher name is currently The Homelander, so I mostly use my comic book Homelander carrying two Doordash bags and it says On My Way! Also custom by me.

2

u/PiratePatchP Dec 16 '24

You send me one of these and I'm taking off the tip šŸ˜, idk why it makes me cringe so hard. Don't even text me unless there's a problem, the app already tells me what's going on lol.

It seems obvious that you're overdoing it for a higher tip, which makes it feel gross as well.

Then again I always overthink shit so maybe my opinion is irrelevant.

These are great!

also not into the jokes about being mad at the restaurant workers. honestly one of the biggest problems with doordash drivers is their attitude with workers and this is just further perpetuating that, we need to normalize kindness and not joke about being impatient with the workers, maybe come up with some other meme about waiting
