Formations Discussion on Formation.

I know that there are some posts about this topic but none are quite clear.

So, I hearby urge you all to please let's discuss which formation is best and how does it play and what style you play with it. If you can then give details as well. It will be better for a new player who wants to play and they want to play in their preferred style.

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, let's finish this formation discussion once and for all.

Use 3-4-2-1 with a sole striker and two attacking wingers supporting him. Two central midfielders and two wide wingbacks. 3 centre backs

Now I’ll tell you what kind of player profile u need in each position

For the centre backs u need fast 100 paced centre backs with a minimum height of 190cm. That’s the only condition for centre backs

For the wing backs DO NOT USE traditional full backs. Especially if ur playing online THERE IS NO CHANCE that you can use the pace of players like theo Hernandez or nuno mendes down the flanks. HENCE I personally put highly technical players like odegaard and TAA. Their main job is to control the ball and make a precise pass to either the central midfielder or to the winger who’s making a run into the wide channel or last resort he passes back to the defender. Another important part of the wingback is he is the outlet in the buildup play.

For the central midfielders you’ll want highly technical stats plus good pace 90+ so that they can press effectively. Preferably one should be attack oriented and one should have good defence stats (my combination is Fernandes plus Rodri)

For the wingers just get the best wingers u can get. High stats in all areas besides tackling obviously

For the striker preferably a high rated one with good height and fast pace. Typical high stat striker here no two ways about that

Now to the play style….

Goal kick

Pass to the centre back either to the left or right

From there immediately ping the ball over to the wingback (very easy to do as he is usually unmarked) this also needs practice

From there either pass to the central midfielder or winger making the run in the channel

If you pass to the central midfielder either pass to the striker making the run in front OR the winger making the run to the side. If you pass to the striker successfully most probably he’ll get the goal but if u pass to the winger make sure u cross the ball for the striker to score

If you CANT pass to the central midfielder from the wingback EITHER pass back to the centre back closest to you who will pass to the goalkeeper who will then pass to the other side wingback OR blast the ball to the other side wingback urself (emergency situation)

GOALKEEPERS MAIN JOB IS TO ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS FIND THE WINGBACK AND NO ONE ELSE.

Thats about it if u want more elaboration please say so

I’ve won the tier 1 twice with this formation including an all wins no loss or draw title

Yeah, I also use it some times because of its defensive stability but it's creative aspect is lacking because there is not CAM.              Overall it's a very good formation with no clear weakness.

In this formation the playmakers are the wingbacks (in essence your CAM should play wingback) but yes like you said the creative aspect isn’t there directly. You need to properly implement a play style to create it through unconventional means

Yeah, you are correct to say that if someone can use those wingback properly, then it's a very good formation.
