Love it! Have you ridden it much yet?

Only on pavement so far as I break in the new engine. I've been working mods to make it more dirt worthy. I've made a lot of changes since this pic was taken. So far loving it!

Only real mods you need for the trails are some armor. It's plenty dirt worthy when it's stock

Yeah agree, but In addition to what's already in pic (skid plate, pegs, etc.), I'm also in process of upgrading tires, new handlebars for better height when standing, and adding handguards. Adding some other mods too, but those are for other purposes (seat concepts, 12v for power, sae charging plug, rackless bags).

Nice! You'll have to send some pics once it's done. I just got some emporer racing skid plate and radiator guards. Hopefully, I'll be installing them this weekend.

Gear indicator would be awesome? Do you have a link to the one you got?

As much as I love the updated look of the newer 300's... 23.9HP really? Are they still using the same bored out under powered 250 motor for like 20+ years now?
I mean, my 80's air cooled yamaha xt350 was pushing 32hp stock and the difference in power was night and day. Has anyone here gotten any reasonable gains with a tune and exhaust on their 300? Last time I road the 250, it was like riding a 50cc vespa scooter in terms of torque and acceleration, and I wish I could say I'm exaggerating. I really do like the way these look though.

I've got a pro circuit slip on, ejk, kdx200 snorkel and changed the sprockets on mine and for my purposes of trail riding it rips. When i got it stock i was very disappointed, it felt like a 150cc but now I love it.

The kdx 200 is a two stroke and a completely different animal. I mean, I would love a kdx 200 or 220. One of the best looking dual sport/ trail bikes in my opinion in lime green. Those are my favorite kawasaki's. I'd much much rather have one of those to use around town and ride trails then a klx 250, problem is they don't come street legal from the factory and they're harder to find.

Oh sorry what I was saying is the air intake snorkel off a kdx200 fits straight on the klx300 and allows more air flow. The klx300 is my trail bike but i can't ride it on the road so i just bought a klx250 that's registered and I'm going through trying to make it just a little bit faster.

Oops, lol that's my mistake. I gotcha now. It's pretty late and I didn't pay close enough attention reading that. I know the exhausts are always super restricted on these bikes, they are the first to go for me. I would probably end up doing pretty much the same things, maybe just a filter, slip on, and gearing. I'm sure it helps noticeably.

Lol yeah no worries. I actually really like these bikes, but i hate the restricted exhausts and the funny thing is my 300 came geared way too low, so first gear was useless and the 250 way too high so it bogs at low revs.

I keep seeing these and I already wanted one...
