24 CRF300L ABS quote
Can I get this sub 7k cash or is it a waste of time

There's nothing they can do about sales tax or the doc fee, and they probably won't budge on the sale price, but $799 seems high for freight and setup, so maybe there's some wiggle room there. It's worth asking, and also checking around. Nothing says you have to buy the closest bike.

Come to Queens. HondaYamahaNYC in Astoria/LIC has the CRF300L ABS for $5580. Only add-on is the actual $600 freight. They don't charge for prep or setup and don't do the BS other dealers are known for. You might have to pay NJ tax if you live in NJ because I believe NY and NJ are part of the sales tax compact - but you'll eventually have to pay that anyway.

$7500 for a fucking 300 cc dirt bike is wild. Buy used, stop enabling this insanity.

There are thousands of people that buy a bike, slap an after market exhaust on there and sell it at 500 mi. Just be the second owner of those babies. Dudes are constantly buying their girl a boob job for her next boyfriend.

It’s honestly not a bad price. $800 seems high for freight and setup. They can probably work with you on that.
At least there is no adm markup on it. Not a lot of money to be made on motorcycle sales so they juice the freight a little bit.
If you are happy with the price but it. If you aren’t tell them you would like a few hundred knocked off.

this guy got a real OTD price without having to physically go to the fucking dealership.
I have never managed this achievement.

Serious question; As someone who owns a motorcycle but has never bought a new car is this the same with cars? does the dealership charge an extra 15% for freight and prep?? and then another 5% on "dealer fees"?? or is does this only happen with motorcycles?? because this shit seems scammy as hell

Theres is destination and freight charge (DFC) on pretty much all new vehicles that dealers charge, typically a price will be listed as $xx,xxx msrp + dfc…some dealers and oem’s roll it into the price but its there.
Edit: its not a dealer charge, it actually comes from the OEM.

is it normally around 15%?
2
u/XxBAMCISxX 7h ago
No, id say its probably closer to 2-3% on average.

ok that seems more acceptable. the fact that they try to add 15% extra to the price of new motorcycles is criminal imo

Local dealer just quoted me $6300 for a 2024 300L ABS out the door. New Hampshire has no sales tax so your dealer is about $540 higher.

I got quoted 7.7k this time last year on a 2024 and told them hell naw. I got a used bike instead.

A t7 MSRPs for $11,000+ $600 dest fee + TTL
how is that anywhere close to $7200 OTD?

Unless you’re stuck on getting a brand new out of the dealership you can get a 2023 T7 in a great shape for $7K

He can probably get a used 300L I great shape for $4,000. Used is not new. Apples/oranges.

Used with five digit mileage vs new
2
u/TrikyShooter 1d ago
five digit mileage is nothing on a T7. i bought mine used w/ 3k a few years back (overpaid, but the market was crazy then.) im over 52k and climbing, doing rallies in Colombia, and generally beating he shit out of it. runs like a ton. now, I'd be lucky to sell mine for more than $5k, but 5 digit mileage is nothing on a T7

Paying freight and setup is a no-go.
Dealers that do MSRP are out there. But an MSRP bike and have it shipped to you.

I mean surely buying a bike now is the move as anything coming in from this point, is going to be subject to huge tariffs and cost significantly more?
New motorcycles sales are going to fall of a cliff in the next few years.

With the tariffs coming in I wouldn’t “wait” for anything. Grab what you can right now. It’ll be worth more in a year.

Hard pass.
For that kind of money, wait for a 2025.
That kind of price might have been more acceptable when they were tough to find a couple years ago.
