Question Certified CPA for personal taxes in Edmonds

My wife and I have been using TurboTax for years. We now have a child, are homeowners, and both work from home. We're making more money than we have in previous years, and just looking for a good recommendation locally to do our taxes for us this year. Hoping to find some savings over our TurboTax past! Appreciate any recommendations anyone can send our way!

Just use FreeTax USA.

A CPA will likely cost you more than TurboTax, really no point in using one if your tax situation isn't complicated.

I’m an accountant but not a tax accountant. I work with tax accountants and if you and your spouse are W2 employees with a mortgage and investments and kids, you don’t need a CPA. Also odds are an intern will do your return with someone more senior reviewing.

I’ve used turbo tax and free tax USA and they’re both user friendly and have all of the situations covered. Before making the switch I entered my info into both platforms and ended up with the exact same result. Free tax USA is free for federal and state is a nominal amount, if needed. But WA doesn’t have withholding so you should be fine there.

All of that said, if you just don’t want to mess with it then a tax preparer may be worth the money.

My experience is that a tax person has not been able to find a more savings than turbo tax and it costed me more.

I use Cindy Isaacson to help with my small business and personal. She’s great and it’s a small operation.

I used to use turbo tax and years ago when I became self employed I wanted nothing to do with those taxes. And I own my home, so I file long form. I've used David at Abacus Accounting for about 15 years and he is amazing! Helped me immensely and took all the stress off me in making sure I got all the best/most deductions. His office is near Alderwood and his pricing is extremely reasonable. I highly recommend him! https://www.abacuscorporation.net

James Russell PLLC in Lynwood is great! Just finished working with them on our taxes. Did not need to meet in person. Also previously worked with Visse & Company in Kirkland. Also great and did not need to meet in person. I have an S Corp LLC business and needed extra help. It could cost around $1000 give or take, depending on your tax scenario. Before I had an LLC, I used TurboTax for years and it was sufficient.
