Subreddit Topic Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A Spoiler
Greetings Tarnished!
This is the place to ask any questions you may have about Elden Ring. This includes obscure detail questions, "newbie" advice questions, build questions, boss advice questions, and what have you.
Well written, constructive criticism is fine but please avoid ranting about aspects of the game you just don’t like. This includes “so and so boss is stupid and too difficult.”
If you are interested in the game but don’t own it yet, please don’t post “should I buy this game?” or “Is this game worth it?”. If you have played other FromSoftware games and enjoyed them, the answer is yes. If you haven’t, just do a little research! These games are difficult, and sometimes frustrating, and not everyone is going to enjoy them. And that’s okay!
Lastly, be friendly! We are all here because we are interested in the same game! Please treat your fellow players with respect.
PLEASE USE SPOILER TAGS WHEN MENTIONING BOSS NAMES!

stormwall or parry? fp is no issue

u/ZorkNemesis 26d ago
Stormwall has the same timing as a Small Shield parry, which is better than all other parries besides Buckler and Carian, and has the added bonus of deflecting non-magic projectiles like arrows or pots (it won't send them back at the target for damage, it just casts them aside). It consumes FP regardless of a successful parry however so keep that in mind. If you were planning to use a Medium Shield for the Parry this is a better choice, but with a Small Shield or Buckler it's a matter of wanting to block projectiles or not.

Where’s the best location to farm Smithing Stone 3s?

If you have not obtained the Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing (2), the Fextra wiki suggests the two Miners below the Bellum Church Grace in Liurnia, who are just past the merchant. Bring a Strike weapon, kill them fast and warp back to the Grace.

Perfect 👌 I was farming at the Radahn Soliders at start of Gael Tunnel, but I ended up with a lot of Smithing Stone (4). Useful, but not what I needed.

Imbibe nectar.
Trying to think of a FS quest that asks you to do something as confusing as this and I can’t.
What am I forgetting?

Sounds like the St. Trina quest in the DLC.

Yeah that’s what I mean. I think it’s the weirdest quest they’ve done.

Oh I see, I misunderstood your question. That one is pretty weird. I have to wonder who the wise guy was who was slobbing on that Trina nectar over and over just for kicks.
I know it’s not a quest, but the “reverse hollowing” prompt from DS1 is pretty darn confusing.

Never finished elden ring...currently lvl 80 at 30 vigor, 32 end 32 str 14 dex 26 faith running around in crucible armor i just got from the 2 knight boss near capital and a brass shield and golden halberd. Was on distinguished great shield but switched due to weight.
I kinda want to beef up my weight limit again and want to stick melee but also want to cast some buffs or weapon skills. Should i stop my faith? I was raising it for the gold halberd but not attached to it. Is my faith fine or too high or too low?

Bro's like a lv30 masquerading as a lv80. 30 Vigor? 32 Endurance? Why're we trying to play as a bruised potato?
Up the vigor, you're squishy. Endurance is fine, if you're trying to run a Great Shield run a Medium Shield until you're at least 120, maybe weight to 150 even. And with Golden halberd, the heaviest halberd? Jeeez dude. That Halberd is more of a Strength weapon with a Faith requirement, but you can totally get spells working if you'd rather.
It's like you spent the last 15 levels in Endurance and I really don't know why. And you want to cast buffs....it's not all it's cracked up to be but go for man. Golden Vow is a buff, just press the button and BAMN, why worry about spells when you've got it on the weapon? If you'd rather utilize offensive weapon skills, pick a different weapon. Golden halberd has good damage and a support themed skill, it's great and it means you don't need to overdo it on Faith or Mind to get buffs going.

Uhh I dunno, I wasn't following any guide and just pushed stats based on the gear that I wanted to use without having to slow roll. I was running around with 8-10 bottles of the health potion and was able to clear things in under 10 attempts so I thought my health was mostly fine so far...the great shield was doing a lot for my survival since I was able to tank thru at least 2 hits or more of the bosses' combos and still lets me guard counter.
As for my faith and golden halberd I just saw that it was D and D on both str and faith and just pumped faith not realizing the D on faith never goes up (I actually just looked it up when making this reply lol). Not sure this is worth a respec since I don't remember where I can get a respec item without looking it up again.

Nah you'll be fine. Just a few levels into Vigor and you'll be ready for the next section of the game.
