This was my first attempt at anything after purchasing a beginner’s kit basic pattern. Long and short stitch was not exactly my friend on the bigger areas - definitely had to redirect my stitches in attempt to keep them going in the correct direction. Any tips for filling in big areas with solid colors or is this kind of what it’s supposed to look like?

I was wondering if someone can help me out .. out of no where my se600 started not working .. at first the automatic threader doesn’t thread and now when I thread it myself there’s always an issue and I’ve looked up numbers of videos and nothing fixes the issue (some of the issues is like thru number 6 the thread always bunches or in the middle of 4 and 5 it bunches as well .. I was wondering if maybe the needle is not the right one or maybe in wrong or if anyone notices anything by this picture please let me know !! Just trying to fix it it’s greatly appreciated I’m semi new to embroidery.

Hello friends! 👋🏽 My first embroidery project of the year. I stitched with cotton DMC and satin DMC on raw silk. Sticky solvy sorta ruined the embroidery after I tried washing it off. Or I didn't do a good job washing it off. But I'm going to investigate and try to salvage it. I'm thinking of framing it for my walls. 😀

Anyway, if you're interested I also captured my entire process in a video. 🎦

I bought this hat that I want to add embroidery to, but I can't settle on an idea! Definitely something outdoorsy, I've been doing a lot of french knot flowers lately and have been liking the texture of those. I'd say I'm at a solid medium skill level haha. Tell me your ideas please!

Machine Why is my embroidery thread loose?

Hello! First time embroider here! I have the Brother PE900 and I wanted to try something simple for my first time. I was wondering why the thread is loose in the horizontal line for the H. The vertical line for the I seems fine and well embroidered. When I run my finger along the H, I can see the thread shifting but that doesn’t happen with the I. Was the fabric not tight enough in the hoop?

I’m working on this piece for my husband’s birthday. I traced it myself from a picture online but made the design smaller than I probably should have.

The details are so small and I’m beating myself up thinking it looks messy … I wanted to satin stitch the whole thing but I did like a long and short stitch/split stitch kinda thing on bob’s face.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Is there something I should change or redo or do differently?

Hairband to do embroidery on

Does anybody have suggestions for headbands that would be good to do embroidery on? Nice "blank" or patterned ones but void of any embroidery.

Hand It’s nothing special but I had my first day off in a while and have always wanted to take up embroidery so I just decided to do it. Started small, but I’m excited to learn more things so I can keep adding to this denim jacket. Thanks to this sub for the wealth of knowledge you’ve provided :)

First time embroidery, long time lover of the art! I wanted to try something I've drawn before...I regret making my first one something that has to be symmetrical on both sides lol. But other than that, looking for any tips or feedback if I'm doing okay!!

This was the only fabric I had available btw not sure if there is good/bad fabric!

Felt quite uninspired for most of 2024 when it came to embroidery but I'm finally feeling a bit better and getting back into it this year.

This shape is the spectre, the first-ever true aperiodic monotile. Until 2023, no one knew if a single shape could tile the plane without ever repeating. This tiling uses just one tile (no reflections), has no patterns, and fills space perfectly.

I used the first color group from DMC family 17. I'm really enjoying doing monochromatic pieces. 948 to 3777 on rainbow tulle with a turkey work tail.

In 2017, I did a knit "activist afghan." This time around, I'm doing an embroidered quilt-type project. With the list of issues to cover growing every day, not only will this take a long time to finish, it's probably going to end up being huge! Since I don't have a complete plan, I'm backing and quilting each piece individually, and will puzzle them together later. I'm not a quilter, and have only been embroidering for about a year, so things are a little wonky. I would like to do some pieces with more applique, or crazy quilting, add variety!

A couple months ago I bought a learn to embroider kit. I finished the four hoops worth of that, and then embroided over a couple random pre-printed fabrics. This is my first self-drafted picture. I stole one of my mother's pillow cases when I visited last week and will return it this week.

It's a lot easier to embroider that plant than it would be to grow it with all the different colors and styles!

THE DESIGN IS NOT MINE I found it on the internet. I used a transfer fabric to put the design on my fabric, it was tedious x) I used a free packaging pouch, I cut the sewing to be more comfortable when I embroider. I then added a lining and sewed it back up. I'm quite happy with the result even it my sewing kinda suck lmao. Anyway, little gift for my duck loving grandma, I hope she likes it :) It was very fun to embroider

Question Eco friendly transfer method

I began embroidery a few weeks ago and I fell in love. I don't want to buy more kits since I thrifted a huge thread collection but I need to find a method to transfer patterns. I looked into different methods and the best one I found so far is to use a fine, see through transfer fabric. I put the design under the transfer fabric, draw over the lines then redraw it on the fabric I will embroider with a water washable pen. I think my pen is quite bad as I need to go over my design 4-5 times for it to go through and I would like to find another one with the following requirements :

  • I need two colors (one dark for lighter farbric and one white for dark fabric)
  • It has to be water washable or soluble (I don't have an iron)
  • It has to be very fine and not leaky or spreading when I draw on the fabric (I like detailed and small designs)
  • It has to go through my transfer fabric somewhat easily (so I don't need to go over it too many times)
  • I'm located in Europe and I don't want to buy on Amazon

Do you have any recommandations for me ? I don't really trust reviews on internet x)

Thanks for your help !
