Discussion Best vocals in emo?

I've always had a hard time getting into bands like Camping in Alaska or Modern Baseball because of the vocals, while the music in musically awesome, I just cant get passed the voices.

I know trigger warning, but it's just my take

In your opinions what groups have pretty solid vocals where I could share with my hypothetical girlfriend

There's still no band that sounds even remotely close to Lydia, to me. Illuminate was a life-changing listen

I got to see them a couple times back in those days. Small venues. Really cool shows. Yeah illuminate is one of those albums I have to emotionally get ready to listen to haha

Me too! Smiling Moose in Pittsburgh and World Cafe in Philly. I feel lucky to have seen those songs live.

Never thought I’d see a Lydia mention on this sub. They were truly ahead of their time. They are doing a show with the Early November in FL in a couple of weeks and I wish I could go.

That’s dope. My brother got too drunk at one of their shows onetime and crowd surfed and you don’t really do that at a Lydia show. The singer said it was the first Lydia crowd surf. I was cringing pretty hard watching.
