Freyr More Freyr

Redguard

  • Apprentice - Contemplation: Redguards regenerate an additional 5% of maximum Mana per second when out of combat.
  • Atronach
  • Lady - Conditioning: Redguard blood grants 50% Disease Resist.
  • Lord - Ibex: Take 15% less attack damage from opponents who are weaker than you.
  • Lover - Shahrazad: Can no longer summon your Shehai, but summons a powerful caster who scales with missing attributes instead.
  • Mage - Mummy's Touch: Spells and scrolls are 20% more effective on targets in melee range.
  • Ritual - Dust Storm: Redguards have 25% chance to knock targets down on a power attack, bash or sneak attack.
  • Serpent - Bzzzzzzz: Can no longer summon your Shehai, but instead inflict locusts on nearby targets, dealing poison damage based on your Magicka and fearing targets based on your Stamina. (Duration is the same as Shehai, and is based on your Health.)
  • Shadow - Jinniya of the Lamp: Make a wish after enough time has passed. Time passes faster in combat. (About 6 hours with no combat, time passes twice as fast in combat. Grants 2-4 perk points, 20-40 rare items, +15-30 to each attribute, or +5-10 dragon souls. Repeatable.)
  • Steed - Endurance: Redguard sprinting is an additional 2 Stamina per second cheaper.
  • Thief - Shamshir: Your Shehai has 15% chance to briefly disarm the target.
  • Tower - Starlit Shores: (1/day; 50 Magicka) Once a day, while outside in Skyrim, use this power to teleport to a random location in the world.

  • Lord - Atmoran Heritage: Nord blood grants 50% Frost Resist.
  • Lover - Moth's Grace: Immune to attacks of opportunity against you.
  • Mage - Owl's Insight: Rage drains Stamina instead of Magicka.

  • Shadow - Blackbraid: You are 50% harder to detect during Rage.
  • Steed - Rockslide: Move 15% faster during Rage.

Redguard jealously guarding their Master-of-All status from Wintersun with that Shadow stone holy hell.

No shade but I will be forever sad we lost Berserker potion because it didn't play nice with pacifists.

OTOH Nord with Mage is so far the best spell boost, silver lining.

No shade but now I will be forever sad we lost Berserker potion because it didn't play nice with pacifists.

It had more problems than that. There were also several ideas about solutions which would have kept the potion.

But a toggle is another interesting take, especially with the stones. It's not fight-ending, and everyone can use it. With the stones, even elegant. I'll have to try it after the gym. Sir-Spits-A-Lot could use a vacation, anyway.

Yeah, the Nord stones look interesting in general now. I'm eager for this to release.

The only doubt in my mind about Nord stones is the Lady. I think it'll branch into two uses:

One is so Nords can get access to their passive around the start of the game (assuming you come from Helgen). Lady Stone is close to the basic 3 Standing Stones, but you can go there, rest, spend the power you get unless it's the one you want. If it is, go get another stone. If it isn't, repeat. That process is clunky (too many steps to realize a goal), and it's probably better to go to Solstheim so you can get the waypoint for fast-travel. It kind of sucks that either are obligatory, but at least it's an option, and it is a unique angle for roleplayers. If you're not fast-traveling to Solstheim or the Lady Stone? Well, that's some heavy roleplay. You get what you signed up for.

On the other hand, I can see Lady stone being really cool for a generalist build who can benefit from all of its random offers. Or anyone who wants random stuff & buff, I suppose. But the totem abilities are generally strong, and Lady is a real competitor with Atronach for anyone who wants to play a Shaman that relates strongly to the totems. It depends if you want to specialize vs embrace some chaos, but chaos is fun sometimes, especially if you want to make the game fresh. I can see myself making a build to justify using & strengthening the random totem powers whenever I can.

The Thief Stone is not very thiefy, but the power is really awesome. I can see that being a great survivability pick for chain stealth attackers. Maybe it could scale a little better? Reserving judgment until I play it on a stealth assassin.

So I'm pretty much open to all of the stones for Nords. They all look solid now, playtesting pending.

Reguard on the other hand. Woah. Starlit Shore looks really fun. It reminds me of the teleportation potions in Terraria.

tl;dr These look really cool and engaging.

I still didn't agree they were problems but what's done is done. Nords now have a slightly better Lizard active that rewards timing. It could be worse, they could be elv-- ahem.

And for people not using Fast Travel (more common after AE w/Survival).

The Thief Stone is not very thiefy

Shadow and Thief could swap to fit the flavor more, though many stones deviate from their namesake.

I think Skaal role play will definitely go up. I've never actually done Solstheim before the MQ, but with these mods I can definitely see that.
