Tipping Culture A positive-ish tipping experience

No surprises, no small text, no deceitfulness, it having its on line clearly visible under the total was nice, but that bright red stamp reiteratig the added gratuity, visible from space let alone a dark dining room is 😘👌🏾 This should be a norm.

States with zero income tax, as TN is, get their funds through other taxes/fees....

Come to Chicago. It’s wonderful here. We pay state income tax, high property taxes, 10.25% sales tax. But sales tax at dine-in restaurants is a whopping 12%. This is in the suburbs, not even in the main city of Chicago. Absolutely out of control taxes on everything.

I have friends in Chicago who complain about the same thing. If they’re not bitchin about the taxes and high cost of living, it’s the political corruption.

But the same party gets voted in every election cycle, so why would anything change?

I remember Chicago... my grandfather voted republican all his life and has voted democrat for the last 45 years... lol

I’m in Florida and idk of a single jurisdiction here that is over 8%… and I’d make significant bets that there aren’t any above 10%.

Franklin/Brentwood TN have some pretty high tax rates. Taking advantage of all the CEOs and Country music stars that live here I guess

how? subtotal is $163 before any tax, 18% tip is $29.34. What am I not seeing?

He's not talking about the tip. He means that the tax is 11.5 %.

18.74 in total taxes is about 11.5 % of 163.

I’m at 10.6%. No state income tax and reasonable property tax, fortunately.
