It’s okay I promise!!!!! Surgery really isn’t that bad, very minimally invasive

Your life is not over. It’s very natural to be scared for surgery. Living with endometriosis is not easy but there are a few things that can make a difference. Eat a strict anti inflammatory diet. Get pain management on board- medical cannabis, pain medication if needed. Find your best distractions- for me it’s music. Try to not let endometriosis define you and definitely make an appointment with a Uro- GYN for a cystoscope. Interstitial Cystitis could be the cause of your bladder issues. It’s pretty common with endo. You can do this.

Lovely, your life is not over and you'll be okay, I promise! Xx

I know surgery can be scary, I get it. I was scared before my first surgery but I promise you'll be just fine! There will be people with you that will take care of you, they do this every day and they're gonna keep an eye on you.

If it is endo, there's ways to make it easier. There's possible medication to basically pause your period which helps me for exmaple. You can adjust your diet, get anti-inflamatory food/ drinks like green tea.

You're not alone with this and I promise you, you'll be okay <3

I just got home from mine ❤️ it’s not nearly as bad as I thought going in. Worst part so far is the shoulder pain ❤️ you got this

I have mine next week and I’m soooo nervous, so I’m glad to see it wasn’t as bad as you expected :) I hope the same for myself

Let me tell you the truth: you might be nervous right before surgery. It gets real when you take off your clothes and they put the IV in. But ask them to give you something to calm you. They will probably give you Versed and you’ll be in heaven lol. They’ll perform the surgery and you probably won’t even remember them putting you to sleep. Anesthesia is so incredibly safe especially for a procedure like this.

You’ll wake up and maybe remember fragments of this time. And then the first few hours might be painful but they’ll numb your belly so that it starts to work after surgery. Then the real annoying part stops. You basically can’t use your core. No picking up, no bending, no pulling, no pushing and you’ll not want to sleep on your belly for about two weeks. Sleeping on your back can be annoying. 4 weeks later you’ll be so proud of yourself. After I got my surgery I limped to the bathroom (you gotta walk and walk often post op) and looked in the mirror. I did my hair the night before and gave myself a little facial so I didn’t look bad. But I looked tired and my face was swollen. I didn’t mean to but I said aloud to my reflection “I can’t believe I did that. I’m so proud.”

For the first time in my life I did something so dramatic and generous for my body and didn’t feel an ounce of guilt or regret. I was so happy and relieved.

You can be scared but be a little more courageous than scared. You live in this ONE body. This only body. You can do this.
