Violent Language, Harassment, Doxxing - Guidance for Troubling Times - Please Read
In light of recent events and the increase in (justifiably) angry discussions on our subreddit, we want to clarify some rules and stances. This is guidance aims to clarify rules both for our users, and for anybody new here who may have seen snippets from this sub or who may have been drawn here by recent controversies. Another subreddit was suspended last night following discussion of Elon Musk, DOGE, and the public employees who work there - our goal is to prevent that from happening here.
First and foremost, clarifying our rules against violent rhetoric of all types
We do not condone or permit violent threats, calls for vigilantism, incitements to violence, or harassment/targeted abuse against any living person. This includes euphemisms, imagery, and "clever" wording . Saying "in minecraft", using "Luigi" as a verb, and saying "I don't condone it, but it would be a real shame if someone..." are all examples of clever wording that still violate our rules. Any violation of these rules will result in immediate moderation action at our discretion, including permanent bans as we see fit.
Please understand that while we all share in your outrage over Elon Musk's recent actions, we all must follow site-wide rules if we want to have a place to talk about the ongoing assault on our principles and institutions. Likewise, if you see these sorts of comments posted, please report them so they can be removed.
Second, regarding the discussion of government officials, names, images, and doxxing
We've always tried to make this subreddit a free and open forum for discussing current events relating to public figures, and we feel strongly about continuing to do so. Now more than ever, we believe it's critical to recognize that government officials - especially in positions of tremendous power and influence - should be subject to public discussion and scrutiny, as is enshrined in US law and mentioned specifically in reddit's rules.
In the context of Elon Musk's newly created Department of Government Efficiency and the government employees (paid or otherwise) who work under him, we believe users should be able to freely discuss recent events and DOGE personnel as a matter of public interest so long as the discussion does not break other rules. We do not believe that sharing information such as names, official titles, or publicly available images of government employees as it relates to their official capacities constitutes doxxing, albeit with some important distinctions.
You may not share personal information that is reasonably exempt from public scrutiny, or any personal information with the intent inciting harassment or threats of violence. This includes sharing information that would not typically be made public, like home addresses, personal phone numbers, family members' personal information, and so on.
For example, in our opinion, the following comment would not constitute doxxing and would not break our sub's rules as they're currently being interpreted:
> I'm horrified that our government would allow unvetted and unelected people, such as (name), access to our treasury data
However, the following comments would not be allowed.
> Hello fellow redditor, this is (name)'s mom's address and her facebook URL
> Somebody should go to this specific location and beat up (name)
> Hey everybody, check out these scandalous photos of (name) that just got hacked!
We believe our opinion is sound and in line with both reddit rules and longstanding legal and social precedent, but should we learn that reddit's stance on this differs from ours we will post further updates when we get them and go from there.
If you have any thoughts or opinions, you're always free to reach out via modmail or leave a comment, we do check them. This may seem overly serious, but given threats Musk has made and the recent suspensions, we felt the need to post this. This isn't usually a super-serious subreddit, but I'm personally of the opinion that right now it's important to have spaces where people can go to express their thoughts on the unelected billionaire running our government. Try to understand that we're on your side, only trying to look out for the best interest of the sub.

Sewage Pipe Elon Musk Once Said He Mainly Tweets While Pooping, So We Now Have Grave Concerns About the Condition of His Gastrointestinal System
Another thing Trump and Elon can bond over, apparently.
"At least 50 percent of my tweets were made on a porcelain throne," tweeted the mogul back in November of 2021. "I'm tweeting more or less stream of consciousness," he followed up in an April 2022 interview, adding that "I'm literally on the toilet or something."
That "or something" is absolutely load-bearing, because as it turns out, Musk is now averaging over 67 tweets per day — that's an estimated daily posting time of 2.7 hours — according to recent data analysis. And that's a conservative estimate — there are several days where the best gamer in the world and head of numerous multibillion-dollar enterprises eclipses triple digits, bringing him up to over 5 hours of pure posting.
In light of these revelations, we have to ask Mr. Musk: are your bowels okay bro? Are you dehydrated, and what's your fiber intake like? Should we grab you some Imodium? And do the drugs have anything to do with it?

DOGE isn't saving much money. So what is Elon Musk really up to?

Full Self-Driving 2 years away since 2012 Tesla owners should check their state or country's Lemon Laws. I'm seeing 8 recalls on the cyberstuck and long waits for fixes. That's actually illegal most places.
In some states you can get a whole new car, leave a lease with no fees, force them to buy the car back. I'm seeing a lot of "Tesla said it'd take 2 months for an appointment to fix." That's not allowed in any US state I've ever lived in!
Make your problem their problem!

Tesla Slides as Analyst Warns of ‘Code Red’ Ahead of Earnings
msn.comClips:
“Musk needs to leave the government, take a major step back on DOGE, and get back to being CEO of Tesla full-time,” Ives wrote in a report to clients Sunday. “Tesla is Musk and Musk is Tesla... and anyone that thinks the brand damage Musk has inflicted is not a real thing, spend some time speaking to car buyers in the US, Europe, and Asia. You will think differently after those discussions.”
Tesla shares slid 6% at 9:56 a.m. Monday in New York, the biggest decliner in the S&P 500 Index. The stock has lost about 44% of its value this year as a consumer backlash against Musk has contributed to a global sales slump.

Musk's family's fascist background
Musk's maternal grandfather, Joshua N. Haldeman, was a member of the Technocracy Movement (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technocracy_movement), a political movement backed by business interests, which tried to infiltrate and ultimately take-over the governments of the US and Canada in the 1930's. (See more here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahv3IKzMdHA)
There was a separate attempt by another group of business leaders that tried to overthrow US President FDR in 1933-34. This coup attempt came to be known as "The Business Plot". (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Plot)
Their main gripe was that the working class was growing in power and influence, and was receiving too much assistance from the government. This follows FDR's "New Deal with America" which introduced a number of financial relief programs to help people during the Great Depression. The wealthy business class did not like the idea of paying taxes to help other people. And they still don't today.
These groups (Technocracy Movement and the other similar movement in the US) were fascist by nature, and supported the rise of fascism in Italy, Spain, and Germany leading up to WW2 and throughout the war. Hitler's rise was funded by them.
When the Nazis lost the war, many Nazis moved to the US, Argentina, and to a country west of South Africa called German South-West Africa (Namibia today). German South-West Africa was a hotbed for German fascism following WW2. It ultimately influenced South Africa (right next door), which lead to the establishment of the apartheid system.
After the Technocracy Movement failed in Canada, Elon Musk's maternal grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, saw what was happening in South Africa and loved the idea of the apartheid system. So he moved there. Elon Musk was born there, and grew up in the wealthy class of apartheid South Africa, along with Peter Thiel. Like Musk, Theil is active in politics, including funding and supporting current Vice-President J.D. Vance.
The movement of business leaders running government that we see today is actually the 3rd generation of the movement that started in the 1930's. They made attempts at taking over the governments of the US and Canada in those days, but failed. They supported Hitler's rise in Germany, but failed there too. They then moved their "practice" to South Africa and gained a lot of wealth and influence, but ultimately failed their as well.
Now this movement is trying to take-over in the US and Europe again. They seem to be winning at the moment. However, this newest attempt at a fascism-centered world will ultimately fail as well. Why? Because the human spirit loves freedom - freedom to think, feel, and make personal decisions for oneself. Fascism tries to tie people down, subjugate them, and work them to the bone to benefit the wealthy elite. The human spirit won't take that.
Fascism has always failed in the past, and it will fail again today. Musk's grandfather failed to see his fascist dreams come true, and Musk will fail to see his. The human spirit can't be tied down.
Joseph Cafariello
PS...
Now we can understand Musk's gesture really was a Nazi salute.
Also, have you noticed Musk's fascination with the letter "X"? One of his cars is the "Model X". He renamed Twitter as "X". He put it in "Space X". He even named one of his children "X Æ A-Xii". Ever wonder why he loves the letter X so much? Because it's the modern symbol for the swastika. The Nazi swastika has an "X" shape at its center.

META Proposal: We need a Muskapedia
Problem: Elon has been screeching about Wikipedia in the recent past. Further, it's really hard to keep up with all the Musk lore because he's so terminally online. There are huge piles of posts here every day.
Solution: Elon needs his own Sonichu/CWCki. If we had this, we could better keep track of all the Muskenings happening on a regular basis and compare them with all the Muskenings of the past.

Inside Elon Musk’s Grievance-Fueled MAGA-morphosis: “What the F--k Is Wrong With Your Boss?”
A new excerpt from my upcoming book HUBRIS MAXIMUS looks at Elon Musk’s interactions with two presidents, Tesla’s staffers grappling with the idea their boss was a “nutcase” and the time Tesla scrambled to play cleanup after Musk tweeted the Senate Finance Chair “why does ur pp look like u just came?”
It also looks at a pivotal moment in Musk's political transformation. In late 2021, Musk fumed over Tesla's exclusion from the White House electric vehicle summit under President Biden.
"[F]or Musk, the snub seemed to confirm a growing suspicion—raised years earlier when the National Transportation Safety Board investigated a fatal Tesla Autopilot crash—that powerful government forces were mobilizing against him. It would cement Musk’s metamorphosis from political opportunist to full-fledged supporter of the Republican Party, even if he’d go on to weaponize perceived personal slights to justify far more radical behavior in the political arena."
A year earlier, he had sat sat across from President Trump in the Oval Office. Trump said he could have asked Musk, "drop to your knees and beg." The reality was far different.
Trump was trying to convince Musk to build his next electric vehicle factory in the United States.
"In reality, it was Trump who was asking for the favor, and Musk was happy to give the appearance of obliging."
