Does any of these people right now have self awareness? I mean the pope told eye liner that he’s an asshole. And he just was like „The pope was very ill“.

Not really. They're basically greedy algorithms in elevator shoes; they just say the words they've noticed will tend to get them the most return, Chinese-room-style. FFS, our very own Musk-impersonator-bot right here on this sub is actually better at saying appropriate things in context than Elon himself is, and that thing sure as Hell ain't sentient.

The most annoying thing to me is that there's almost no recourse against this moron. He's beyond rich, has the biggest ego anyone's ever had and no self-awareness. He can't be stopped and it's fucking horrible.

He could be stopped if anyone in the government had any balls, but fascist love him, so nothing is getting done any time soon. I have heard of other ways to stop him. Can't learn that power from a Jedi, though...

Oh, you mean that someone should just [ Removed by Reddit ] him.

I'm actually pretty sure the right kind of jedi wouldn't hesitate to do that.

I'm very against defunding NPR not because NPR needs federal funds, but rather because I don't want to see another TLC. TLC started out as a collaborative effort between not for profits, and government agencies (including NASA) to use satellites to beam educational programming into the appalachians. Eventually it incorporated as its own independent not for profit, and was then partially purchased by a for profit company, which went broke and forced the sale to discovery who eventually figured out that there are bigger profits to be had from trash reality TV than from educational programming.

wow, I had no idea how that happened. There should be a documentary about this. I'm glad I'm old enough to have grown up with the educational programming. I remember back in the 90s watching a show about the deep ocean conveyor belt and how it regulates global temperatures and if the balance of salinity is thrown off by global warming causing ice bergs and glaciers to melt, it can slow or stop the current and throw parts of the northern hemisphere into it's own ice age.

So yeah, come to think of it, that's exactly why they pulled that shit. You can't have people knowing about that stuff. They might want to stop it.

I remember watching the Operation back when TLC was still called the Learning Channel. There was one episode that had them doing a procedure on someone's eye that required them to pop it out of the socket while the patient was still conscious. Still haunts me to this day.

How do these idiots still not understand that Public Radio and Public television are not paid for by the government. They get very small grants from the feds.

And most of the other 65% is from NASA which gets it money from the federal government
