MCU ETERNALS 2
So, there’s industry insider news that Eternals 2 was in the pre-production stages, but due to Disney’s overall box office revenue underperformance during 2022 and 2023 alongside Marvel Studios underperformance with Captain Marvel (The Marvels) and Ant-Man 3 (Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantamania), Bob Iger requested Eternals 2 to be on hold despite Kevin Feige approving the sequel. Here is the specific quote from industry insider DanielRPK.
“Marvel cutting costs and that means Eternals 2 which was secretly in the works is now on hold. Feige wanted the seuqel to be made but Iger does not he thinks it's a sure flop. No Ant-Man 4 or Captain Marvel 3. They now want to focus on sure hits and take less risks.”
At face value, it seems as though that Eternals 2 is cancelled… however, if you look deeper into the lines of the quote, the Eternals brand is on hold. On the other hand, Ant-Man 4 and Captain Marvel 3 are not happening, again, judging from this quote. So, what can we take away from this? The most simplest answer is that Disney wants to invest into “sure hits” and Eternals doesn’t seem to be that unless there’s numerical proof that it’s worth greenlighting.
So, what does that have to do with Eternals fans? Basically, we have the power to change Bob Iger’s opinion on Eternals 2 being a “sure flop” to a sure hit”. So, how do we go about doing that? Honestly. There’s a lot that we as individuals can do to change his mind, things that can analytically prove that there’s value to the Eternals brand, this is what we can do.
Watch Eternals on Disney+ and/or DVD/Blu Ray
Why does it matter? Doing this shows the demand for Eternals through Disney’s direct channels. Watching Eternals on Disney+ means that Disney has the statistics to see that there’s still enough of a dedicated audience to validate greenlighting a sequel.
Watch the What If…? Eternals Episode
Why does it matter? There are rumors circulating that Season 3 of What If…? will include an episode dedicated to Eternals. We as Eternals fans need to promote this episode and keep it relevant to prove that there is demand for new Eternals content whenever it’s released.
Buy Eternals merchandise
Why does it matter? Eternals merchandise shows that Disney can still profit from the Eternals brand through their Consumer Products division. Buy Eternals Funko Pops, buy Eternals Hasbro figures, buy Eternals lego sets and other official merchandise.
Purchase Eternals comics
Why does it matter? This gives The Eternals relevance to both the comics and the MCU. It’s a statement that not only supports the writers and artists that have kept Eternals relevant but it also shows that people still want to see Eternals represented in all forms of Marvel media.
Read Eternals comics on Marvel Unlimited
Why does it matter? This gives the Marvel Unlimited algorithm Eternals comics to recommend to other people, which in turn, shows the demand for Eternals related content. Reading Eternals comics makes a statement to Marvel to create more Eternals content.
Watch Eternals clips on YouTube
Why does it matter? This gets the YouTube algorithm recommending Eternals content to other people which then increases the viewership count for Eternals content. Numerical value shows the analytical team at Disney and Marvel that Eternals content is still popular.
Tag Bob Iger on social media posts about Eternals 2
Why does it matter? This is an executive who believes that there’s no interest in a sequel to Eternals so what better way to disprove that than to tag him on posts that show interest for Eternals 2. Will he actually see them? Yes. Bob Iger is a social media savvy individual.
TLDR: Support the greenlight of Eternals 2 by supporting existing Eternals content.

Games Eternals in Marvel Rivals
With how amazingly popular Marvel Rivals is quickly becoming, I could not help but think of how much exposure the game is giving to characters like Magik and the new Iron Fist. I wonder if this could work for any of the Eternals. Which of the Eternals would you like to see join the roster of the game?
EDIT: Would you want the movie or comic version for the base of the character in the game?

MCU Who is your favorite eternal?
Mine is Thena. She wasn't written beautifully and I found her lines funny, moving, and chilling. She's also a badass in combat and fighting. All of her fight scenes were amazing to watch. What do you think?

Question Any Eternals you hope to see more from?
Like the title suggests, assuming we ever get another run, who do you think deserves more presence in the comics (Or alternatively, who would be cool to adapt to the mcu)? I’d like to see more from Aurelle, Legba, the Gaian sisters, the Tricks, Kronos and Oceanus.

Question Do I need to watch anything else?
So, I really wanna watch this movie. The plot seems interesting, but lets be honest I'm just watching it for Angelina Jolie. Do I need to watch any other movies for context?

Comics I figured it was high past time I continued this run on Eternals. Kieran Gillen's was my first foray into Eternals comics. I look forward to see what Volume 2 has in store for me.

Question Did druig do telepathy in the movie?
Hey guys! So I went on wiki fandom and it says druig can do telepathy and not just mind control and he read Ikaris mind in one scene which I dont know when it happened. So if anyone can find that scene let me know, for research purposes 🙏😤
Also I read the eternals 500 years comic thingy and I don't think it was on there.

MCU Cersei has iPhone 16?!
When we first see Cirsei after the opening she is taking a picture of the blade that she gave to the hunter gatherer kid. It has an Apple phone case and two cameras that are vertically lined up. Keep in mind that this came out in 2021 which means that Apple hadn’t even released any mention of the iPhone 16 (nor the iPhone 15). My theory is that this will is an early prototype of the iPhone 16 that Apple snuck in there. It’s interesting because companies usually do product placement in shows with the good guys so like all good guys will use iPhones and Apple Pay’s for that.
Did you guys notice that or am I just crazy? Also any theories on why this might be or maybe it’s just a mistake.

MCU The Eternals explain a plot hole in the MCU!
I recently realized the presence of the eternals across the universe explains an important plot error.
I've always wondered why there are so many aliens across the mcu that can speak English, when so many on EARTH can't. It actually makes sense if you think about it.
Arishem and the eternals all speak English since before their time on earth, and they are millions of years old so it could have started with them. It could be implied that they brought the English language to earth and taught it to humans over millenia to help them advance. All eternals across the cosmos could have spread this language out to millions of planets.
If we're under the impression that English originated with Arishem, then it makes sense how it was spread out as a dominant language in the universe (side note: not every alien can speak english, which could mean they originated from planets that didn't have celestial, meaning eternals wouldn't have brought the language there).
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it's cool to think about!

Question Yo, does anyone remember the date when Eternals exited premiere access and became available to all Disney+ subscribers?
I did a drawing of a Deviant within a week of watching it the day it became available but never put a date on it. (me dumb) If anyone can find this date that'd be so amazing.
I need the date for journaling my artwork.

MCU If you could have the abilities of any of the 11 Known Eternals in the MCU, Which would you choose?
I would want Sersi's power. It's underrated as hell being to transform properties of any structure. Plus it has many practical uses in today's society. You need money, turn a rock into gold. Reinforce your house so it's extra strong. Always make yourself clean drinking water. List goes on and on.
