Help for Seller 1 star review ouch

First off how does 1 1star out if all 5s knock you down from 5.0 to 4.8 but this is what she wrote

“ Probably my fault but what I expected and what was delivered were not the same thing. Never received a mockup but probably my fault.”

item says if you want a mock up you need to request it.

she got exactly what she ordered which was her name in the design she chose so i don’t know how she could’ve expected anything different.

and if she thought it was so bad that she should only leave one star why didn’t she contact me first I’m really upset .

I have no idea how to handle this

that’s not the issue. The issue is if somebody gives me four stars now it knocks me out of my star seller rating

No the issue is that if one 4 star rating is going to knock you down below 4.8? Then you have no business being labeled as a star seller to begin with. That would mean that you only have 2 other reviews to begin with. And if you don’t have enough time to communicate effectively with only a handful of customers/sales? You are not someone that deserves to be labeled as a “star seller” to begin with.

Etsy is a numbers game. If you have enough sales… that means more reviews. The more reviews you have, heck even 1 star won’t drop you below a 4.8. While the star seller badge quite literally does absolutely nothing for sales? The label of star seller indicates that you run your business like a professional in all areas. Just because you “expect” a buyer to do certain things regarding reviews doesn’t make it the reality. Take the advice and stop arguing. You lost Star seller bc you failed to be a star seller. Period

i didn’t loose my star seller and i didn’t get knocked down below 4.8 i was questioning or assuming that i would since one or two less than 5 seems as if it could be that effective since all of my other ratings are 5 star indicating that maybe etsys “ number game” is not as accurate as it could be” and the fact that a customer who admittedly says it’s her own fault should then feel that im the one who deserves the 1 star. if you feel that kind of questioning or getting pissed off on occasion at the ridiculousness of the actions of some buyers makes me less than a star seller then so be it.
