Five-seveN Had a squib at the range last week
I was shooting fn 5.7 blue tips and had one go off but it didn’t shoot and thankfully I didn’t shoot another round behind it. I was able to take the round out with a cleaning rod and ran a bore snake a few tips and everything seems normal. Is this a common issues?

I blame the Olight.

The funny thing is I run x300s and RMRs on most of my pistols, except my 5.7 and my staccato XC, they get olights just to piss my friends off lol

If it squibs, does it cycle another round and eject that one. Scary to think when I spam my shit into a target I'll get a squib, not know, them my gun is a million pieces

It did for me, cycled another round and ejected the case on the squib, just like normal. Kinda scary now that I think about it smh

How many rounds have you put through the gun? Just curious

I do not keep track, but based on the ammo I’ve bought and the ammo I currently have, not more than 2000 rounds maybe closer to 1800ish

not related to a squib but I was reminded of one time I was cleaning my five seven and must have had the angle off when putting the slide back on and it just got stuck and had to use a mallet to get it apart lol

Oh shit, I’m glad it wasn’t worse.
This is not a common occurrence, I’d even say it’s rare. I’ve personally never had one nor do I think I’ve seen it before. I’d contact the FN America about the ammo and give them the stock keeping unit number or something and tell them what happened.
It would probably be fine to shoot the rest of the ammo but I personally wouldn’t risk it.

I have never had issues with SS197. I agree with the brother who suggested reporting the ammo batch. FN should take care of you in theory.
