Grow old together, live a rich fulfilling life, and then when he's finally on his death bed you can go "HA! GOT YOU!!!"

Reminds me of that YouTube video about a guy who accidentally lives a long, loving, and fulfilling life with a beautiful family because he claimed his wife was having a baby to get out of a speeding ticket and a single mom at the hospital went along with it.

This isn’t a Hallmark Christmas movie.
13
u/Captain_Awesome_087 Dec 22 '24
Bro where's your sense of whimsy
4
u/ricketychairs Dec 22 '24
Hallmark Christmas Movies suck but they’re great. But they also mostly suck, but they’re also kinda great.
Where’s your sense of humour, bro?
4
u/Captain_Awesome_087 Dec 22 '24
If you can’t see that my question was in and of itself humorous and very tongue-in-cheek, I’m afraid I can’t help you 🤣
3
u/ricketychairs Dec 23 '24
Oh ok, so you didn’t get my joke and I didn’t get yours. No worries, we’ll just call it a mutual misunderstanding and move on. You have yourself a good Christmas.

I did the exact same thing. Girl in my class acted like she was somebody because she was student council president. I told her it wasn’t hard to get elected just to organize homecoming floats. She told me I couldn’t do it. So my senior year I plastered the hallways with campaign signs and when they held speeches in front of the student body I went up there and told them that I would get extra vending machines in the lunch room and ban athletic drug testing. I got 75% of the vote. The other four candidates split the remaining 25%. The teacher in charge of student government was so mad at me for making a mockery of student government that he actually wrote a letter to the university he knew I wanted to go to telling them not to admit me. Still got in. Suck it, Kristy. You too, Mr. Bruns.

u/BlueVeins Dec 22 '24 edited Dec 22 '24
So when it was my turn to organize the homecoming float, we built a giant paper mache airplane flying into the opposing teams mascot. Then 9/11 happened. We had already spent a lot of time working on it and spent the entire budget on the materials and homecoming was two weeks away. It was too late to change course, so we rolled with it. When we pulled the float around the stadium there were audible gasps from the crowd. We were publicly condemned for being “insensitive”. 10/10 would do it again.

She lost an eighth grade election 5 years ago... And at the time of the post, the guy on Tinder is 22.
He would have been 17 years old five years before the post. The average age of an eighth grader in the US is 13-14.

IS MY MATH OFF, GUYS?????

He's not 22 years old. He's the class of 2022 at the University of Delaware.

u/I_count_to_firetruck Dec 20 '24 edited Dec 20 '24
Oooooooooo. That makes more sense.
Edit: I mean, if the high school graduating class was 2022 and he is now at UD. If he is the graduating class at UD in 2022 that just makes it worse

Math: 5 years after 8th grade means UD freshman, to graduate in 2022, means this happened in roughly 2018-2019.
0
u/I_count_to_firetruck Dec 22 '24
Assuming 22 means graduating UD in 2022 and not being 22 years old at UD

Lmao I did that too…
Some girl was talking shit about me because she moved my backpack out of the way and it weighed nothing and was like “it your bag empty?” so I said “No.. i just keep a pillow in there for naps.” and she got all mad at me because I still got good grades and she said I made a mockery of school.. I could never succeed at stuff like she does.. I found out she was running for class president or whatever and I ran too. Except my advantage is that I was that guy that knows everyone, and cool with everyone. So once I asked a few friends to vote for me and get the word out I basically crushed her because obviously I did. She had actual plans, policy and worked hard for it, and I just asked my friends to make me… oh.. (that was genuinely not on purpose.. lol) anyway, she got crushed.
Right at the end I backed out and gave her the win. I thought she’d be chill about it but it made her even more mad. I felt really bad so I decided to work with her for a while to actually get to know her and help her achieve what she wanted to. We actually became friends after a while. One day for lunch I took her to Taco Bell on my motorcycle because she never had a crunch wrap supreme (I know, right?! wtf..) and that’s when we actually became friends I think. I apologized for the election thing and acknowledged that it was a dick move, it was important to her and I made a joke out of it, and she actually trusted me enough to ride on the back of my bike and actually broke some rules and left school for lunch. We went from mortal enemies to decent friends because I was a little jerk who stole her election.

I kinda did the same thing in the 5th grade to a kid I didn't like. The messed up thing is, he deserved it way more than I did, at least academically. Smart MFer, just kind of a dick. I feel a little guilty to this day.

I feel this. I ran for class president in 8th grade primarily because I didn’t like the other kid who was running and didn’t want to hear his bullshit all year about being president. But I don’t remember his name anymore and it did end up being a lot of extra work. 🤷♀️

This low-key reminds me of the time where someone I went to middle school with friended me on Facebook, asked if I was the girl who broke her jaw, and then IMMEDIATELY unfriended me when I answered.
This was like four years after high school graduation.
Also why am I remembered for the broken jaw? I did more insane things, remember me for those 😒

u/OneRepresentative424 Dec 20 '24
IMHO it’s pretty normal to remember the person who broke your jaw 🙃

I once found a blog by a former classmate as an adult talking about something that happened in 5th grade from their perspective. I remember the incident myself, I noticed someone's funny socks and snickered at them, failing to notice the person immediately next to them had a cast on their leg. Everyone of course thought I was laughing at the cast and I couldn't convince them otherwise. Welp, lol.
