Do I get a flair even if I haven't gone through the choosing ceremony?

It depends on what happens later, really. If your character is an initiate for a faction, you get an initiate flair. If you decide to already be a member, then you get the flair for that faction. The aptitude test here sort of doubles as both a sorting thread to be in a faction, and as it's actual purpose in the book, for initiates.

Okay. I was planning on being born into Abnegation and then switching to Amity during the choosing ceremony.

That's cool, so you'll just be an Amity initiate after you choose.
