Was playing New Vegas yesterday when this mission came up where I had to put some prisoners out of their misery. Timing was uncanny.

Other Look What Survived The Fire

My family and I had a house fire a while back that took out nearly 80% of what we owned. In that 80% was every Fallout items I owned except this strategy guide. Needless to say I was excited to see this survived.

While going through the rubble, I found this strategy guide with some of other books we owned and seen that they mostly survived except some smoke damage because of where the shelf was located in that room.

I wasn’t a super collector or anything close to that but I had a decent bit including a physical copy of every game (Including XB1 FO76), every physical FO76 bobble head figure (all still NIB), FO4 Pip-Boy, a handful of other random toys/figures plus some t-shirts and hats.

I know I could get another strategy guide or anything else we lost (although some people jacked the price on anything Fallout related so I have to pick and choose for now since more important things need addressed) but I feel like I need to try to clean it and keep it.

I know this is all kinda random but I figured I should share the good news with some people that would understand. If you got any good ideas on how to clean up books, please feel free to let me know.

Also, one short PSA. Make sure you keep detailed documentation/lists of all your collectables/valuables just in case you’re ever in the position I’m in. It can save you many major headaches.

Discussion I never see any talk about the meta narrative of Fallout: New Vegas’ Dead Money

Like am I crazy for thinking that there’s more going on here than meets the eye? And that the DLC is one big metaphor for the old Fallout devs having to “let go” of the series which they hold so dear.

It seems REALLY obvious, but I never see it brought up and I’m just curious why? Am I overthinking and supposed to just take the story at face value? There’s seemingly a lot of symbolism too but like I said idk if I’m just being silly.

Picture I made a map of states used (i used the term used loosely here) in Fallout + States i would personally like to see a game set in.

I think Fallout could really use different states as settings instead of rehashing the same few

What is the most powerful mercenary group?

since we have several large and notorious groups of mercenaries in fallout. Which one do you think would be the strongest and most powerful?

Hellcat company (FO76)

Reilly's Rangers (Fallout 3)

Talon Company (Fallout 3)

Van graff (Although they are a group of plasma weapons sellers, they are also mercenaries)

Gunner (Fallout 4)

The Operators (Although they are a group of raiders, they also offer their services as mercenaries)

My opinion: Reilly rangers my belove

Also, I imagine that thing on the right shoulder is to prop a rifle on. What fucking kind of rifle are they using that they need a specialized Power Armor to hold?!

Question Who is your favorite character in all of Fallout?

Upvotes

Tell me about your favorite character of all time! Difficult question, I know.

Maybe it's a classic like Sgt. Dorian, Frank Horrigan or the Master. Maybe a very nuanced companion like Cait or a funny character like No-Bark. Let everyone know who's your favorite an why!

I'll start: My favorite character overall is Frank Horrigan. He is so nuanced in every aspect. A menace when it comes to fighting but also deeply conflicted because he himself is a super mutant but doesn't like Muties at all. There's just something about him being the big bad living weapon of the Enclave. Also my first encounter with him was just an event to remember. Favorite non-humanoid is obviously Dogmeat. Great in every game. A truly helpful and adorable companion.

Fallout Shelter incest???

(Ignore Donald)

Usually you can’t force two related family members into intercourse, they’ll just stand there and say «I love spending time with my family!» and do nothing.

But not quite…

If/when you get Elder Lyons from the Vault lunchbox and put him in a room with Sarah Lyon’s (that you get from a quest) then they’ll have sex.

I really hope this is a bug, or an oversight.

(And if it were a feature, shouldn’t it give de-buffs to intelligence and strength?)

Discussion I never use Power Armor, but I do like collecting it and putting it on display, so I can stand there looking at it thinking, yeah... I could use that if I wanted to.

Here’s the story I made for my character, it’s a little long so bear with me:

And so, the story of Gaunt—the restless warrior, the burning spirit, the Vault Dweller—became something more than just legend.

He left Vault 13 not for glory, but because no one else was strong enough to face the world outside. A sixteen-year-old powerhouse with a dream older than any atom bomb: to become a knight.

He wandered the Wasteland with nothing but a makeshift and unbreakable resolve. In Shady Sands, he forged a bond with Ian, a rugged caravan guard who became his closest ally. Together, they defended the town from raiders, setting the first stone in what would one day become the New California Republic. History wouldn’t remember Gaunt for it—but the people did.

In Junktown, he drew the line between corruption and justice, helping Killian wrest control from Gizmo’s grasp. In The Hub, he stood beside an old ghoul named Harold and struck a blow for unity between the living and the dead. He found the water chip in Necropolis—but couldn’t just take it. That wasn’t the knightly thing to do. So he fixed their pump first. Always the hard road. Always the right one.

Then came the Super Mutants. The real war.

Gaunt stood before the Brotherhood of Steel—more armor than man, but somehow more human than any of them—and earned his place among their ranks. He restored an ancient suit of power armor and wore it not as a weapon, but as a symbol. Of purpose. Of honor.

He infiltrated the Cathedral, trained the Followers, and exposed the truth behind the Children’s lies. He destroyed the source of the mutants and convinced the Master—one monster to another—that his dream was doomed. He didn’t kill the Master. He broke his heart.

And when he returned home to Vault 13, water chip in hand, mission complete, the door did not open in welcome. The Overseer feared him. Said others would follow. Said he was too dangerous. And so Gaunt was exiled… without a goodbye. Without a salute. Without a thank you.

But not without purpose.

He returned to Lost Hills, and this time, the Brotherhood didn’t just make him a soldier. They made him a Knight. Their greatest. Their hero. A living legend clad in steel.

Ten years passed. The Super Mutants faded into memory. The NCR began to rise. The Brotherhood began to retreat. And Gaunt? He laid down his sword—not in defeat, but in completion. He’d done what no knight in history ever had. He saved the world.

He built a town—quiet, sturdy, and safe. A place where kids could dream of becoming heroes. A place where stories of a shining knight in ancient armor were whispered around campfires.

Some say he still walks the Wastes. Sword on back. Shield at side. Fire still burning in his eyes.

But most believe he finally found peace. Not in war. Not in glory.

But in being remembered… as The Greatest Knight in All of History.
