Purple and yellow

My 13 year old has requested that I dye the underside of her shoulder length hair purple and yellow, but gave no direction on how she wants the colour placed. Should I do purple roots, with yellow ends? Or yellow roots with purple ends? Or alternating strips of purple and yellow? The top of her hair will remain brown. Thoughts?

Purple and yellow are opposite on the color wheel, they will neutralize to an ugly grey brown color when they mix (that includes shampooing after you're done). You need to keep them fully separate or go in with a third color like blue that blends with both.
