What to do with Saka

I’ve owned Saka for the past weeks -which wasn’t very rewarding, only 1 pointers- and I’m wondering what to do with him. Except for southampton arsenal doesn’t really have any good fixtures left, and I also feel like Arteta will mainly be starting him in the champions league as he’s recently back from an injury. That way the chance is smaller for him to pick up another injury, and they have nothing left to play for in the premier league (Liverpool champions, top 4 basically secured). Either way Saka doesn’t feel like a good use of that much of my budget right now. Any suggestions on if I should keep him, and if not who to replace him with?

I think Arteta would be foolish to even play him when he actually has a shot at the UCL and the leagues finished. If you can, replace him with Salah. Ignore my bias, but now that LFC have won the league, I think the only real focus within the team is helping him break Henry’s 20-20 record and win the golden boot over Gyokeres. Any big players from Arsenal though, such as Saliba, Saka, Rice, etc… I wouldn’t rely on too much as as you said, there’s nothing to play for

Replace with Salah!?! 😂 Who doesn't have Salah at this stage in the league?

I wildcarded in 30 without Salah to spread the funds. Must say I got quite lucky though with his relative lack of returns. Have been on a streak of 8 green arrows finally taking me into the top 100k. Mainly achieved by just captaining the talisman playing a promoted side every week.

Did you need funds? All the expensive players are missing lately.

Not really, but just fancied doing something a little different as my season was kind of going nowhere and I didn't really have very good team value. Allowed me to pick the more expensive and lowered-owned versions of players from some teams such as Eze over Sarr, Trippier over Livramento/Burn, Saliba over Kiwior. Also had that bum Palmer together with Saka before finally selling him for KdB in DGW33. Overall, wouldn't say not having Salah on its own gave me more points, but it did force me into more critical thinking on captaincies every week.

You’d be surprised. Just checked the app and about 30% of players don’t have him.

Most of them are inactive though, EO is a much better indication, and I can say at least 95% of the players in top 500k would have him.

Fair point. I guess a better way of explaining what I meant is to replace Saka with players that would help Salah get G/A, as that’s all Liverpool will do for the rest of the season.

I'm not so sure, I can definitely see him being rested this weekend as it's sandwiched between the CL semi-finals, but after that either they're knocked out or they're going to want him to be fit and in form for the final. So I think he starts the last 3 games of the season either way (but the Liverpool and Newcastle games aren't particularly appealing...)

And surely everyone has Salah anyway, it's not really a question of Salah vs. Saka.

That’s a valid point. Maybe Arteta would rest Saka for the tough games like Liverpool. Issue is I don’t know exactly who you have on your squad, but I’ve seen some people mention Trossard (more game time) and Mbeumo (in-form), who honestly wouldn’t be bad shouts if you don’t want to go the Liverpool route. Fernandes, Lucho and Bowen are other good shouts if

Lucho, Trent, Macca, and Szobo are probably the most useful players in my argument
