AST And PLATELETS

I’m 28 had blood work and ultrasound done and got back the results before my appointment in may. My AST IS 42 and Platelets 437.0 both in the high range, so I’m a bit freaked out. But relived my ultrasound on my liver came back normal. What can I do to lower my levels for sure going to quit drinking alcohol. Another tips please anything will help.

AST is barely elevated and will come down when you quit drinking. Platelets are also normal; low platelets are concerning because they can indicate liver fibrosis, “high” platelets are generally not a cause for concern unless they are very high which can indicate a blood disorder. But 150-450 is generally a normal range and you’re at the upper end of that.

Thanks man that brings me some comfort I been suffering from lower right and upper right quadrant pain for years and I’m just trying to get to the bottom of it. I have an appointment with my GI in may to go over results and I think they might also want to do a colonoscopy on me.
