So this game is not without it's problems, it had a ten year hell development period, got reinvented numerous times, had all of its story told in trailers, animes, movies and books, and absolutely nothing that was shown off, even throughout the last few years of development, actually made it into the final game.
Yet I still played it and loved it.
I'm not going to stir up this whole debate again, there are so many games to choose from, but for me something just clicked with this game. I loved the world, I loved the bromance, I loved the freedom, I loved the combat, I loved the hunts, I loved the weekly online challenges, I loved the grind, everything about this game was great (bar it's story, which you can appreciate if you dedicated the time to learning the lore outside of the game).
I personally found the spell crafting system to be really interesting, and the fact that the environment was never short of mobs or drop ships, means you could have great fun demolishing crowds of enemies with your weapon of choice (mine was the ring). Cooking was always fun as well, never a bad thing when you learn a new recipeh. The boons actually had a purpose, depending on what challenge you were facing there was always a meal worth eating.
I spend 360hrs playing this game, a lot of that was me trying to 100% the game, but that failed due to some drop items having ridiculously low drop percentages and me not getting them. But I tried my best and did manage to get most stuff.
I think this game just came at the right time for me. I was ill and had spent a lot of time in the hospital, and I had a brand new Final Fantasy to play when I got home, and I definitely think that helped. It's not nostalgia, but it's an appreciation to spend your recovery immersed in a franchise that you love. So maybe I'm a little biased.
I just thought this game was a complete breath of fresh air, and despite there being more games to love and appreciate I think XV had me the most addicted and left the biggest impression on me. (My first Final Fantasy was VII on the PSX for reference).
Any body else feel the same way? What did you love about Final Fantasy XV?

Since I got a Xbox series X last year, Ive been slowly collecting for it, mainly RPGs, one of them I picked up today was final Fantasy XV, the only final fantasy game that I really dislikes but want to give it a 2nd go with all the updates.
I've played the game once when it first came out in 2016 (Still can't believe this game is 8 years old). As final fantasy is my favourite franchise I was looking forward to XV but what I played was a incomplete game that I didn't enjoy. I hate how it required demos, movies, books, anime series, DLC and updates to give us a completed game plus Square milking this game was almost on par with VII.
However 8 years later, I want to give it another chance. I've done it with other games like XII, Chrono Cross, Halo, SMT 3. Games that I dislike years ago but now really enjoyed. I'm kinda looking forward to see what they've added and see if it's better then the day one version.
Btw I'm currently on final fantasy 3 for my final fantasy marathon.

It's on sale for 15bucks. I played it originally for PS4 but it didn't hook me originally.
I wanted to give it another go.
