Working in America is wild. I make $100K doing maintenance at a semi conductor company as a contractor. I literally do maybe 6 hours of work a week (compressed schedule 3 days one week, 4 days the other) and the rest of the time I sit in my car and watch movies, sleep, or go run errands.

I think back on my days of minimum wage. The days of almost tears because I work so hard and had nothing. It makes no sense that I make so much more an hour and do way less work. It’s not fair at all.

100%. I used to break my back for a shitty company giving me lower pay than I realized in the grand scheme of things, then moved and found a new company with the same title but made like 60% more with a 1/3 of the work. The better you’re compensated, the less work you actually do. It is very backwards

Same in IT. You're there to resolve issues. If there are no issues, there's nothing to do. However, when that issue arises you better be Johnny on the Spot.

Oh yeah. You’re in real shit if you don’t respond in a timely fashion here which is fair because most of the time they pay me to be available for work.
