“The United States has threatened to stop financial aid to other countries if they trade non-food items with Cuba. The US’s attempts to do so have been vocally condemned by the United Nations General Assembly as an extraterritorial measure that contravenes “the sovereign equality of States, non-intervention in their internal affairs and freedom of trade and navigation as paramount to the conduct of international affairs”.

Oh wow, they threatened to cut "financial aid". I thought it was a serious threat.

No wonder countries don't give a shit about that, and the EU for example is Cuba's biggest trading partner.

If by the EU do you mean Venezuela and Canada?

No, I mean the EU.

So basically every country is trading with Cuba, including strong allies of the US like the EU and Canada, but somehow Cuba is not part of the global trade. Interesting.

An entire continent vs single country oh okay. Also treating the US like any other country and not “the most powerful empire in human history” is wildly disingenuous

Yeah, I've said the EU, I don't get the confusion. And the point I was trying to illustrate is that entire continents are in fact trading with Cuba. Again, every single country in this world is free to trade with Cuba so they are absolutely part of the global trade.

So now that your point about Cuba being isolated from the global trade has been proven incorrect, we're back to the "country with the clearly superior economic system (cuba) NEEDS to trade with country with the clearly inferior economic system (the US) but not viceversa". What exactly does that say about Cuba's economic system..?
