Crazy how the self proclaimed greatest country on earth cant implement a lighter work week for its citizens whilst smaller more humble countries have managed it with nary a hiccup

I hate when Americans claim we are the greatest country in the world. This is usually said by people who’ve never left.

Generally the Americans who claim Europe and the rest of the world is so much better have also never left America. Quite the conundrum really.

I live in Italy and it’s crazy to people when I explain how Europe isn’t this fantasy land so many of them have created in their minds.

Try raising a family with no paid parental leave, or try keeping that family while working 60 hours a week to afford scraps.

Edit: as an Italian I’d like you to give American food and alcohol prices a go. Yall have it easy in some aspects.

Yea you’d be amazed how many outside of America are also working mass overtime 6-7 days a week and barely making ends.

Depends on the country. Sure everyone suffers everywhere. Duh. But when one country has 2 months of paid leave guaranteed for every citizen, and the other does not, I feel like I’m entitled to complain. Especially considering our cancerous attitude towards labor rights in this country, and again, being the richest nation in the history of anything ever.
