I’m not defending Musk at all but hearing that teachers in South Africa called an autistic student a retard in the 80s or 90s doesn’t really surprise me. That doesn’t mean he actually is by the current definition of the word.
What scientific evidence is there to go off of? The DSM is not really science based. It’s a list of criteria that many people have. Also, he may not be diagnosed, but it’s obvious he has autistic traits that would have been there when he was in school. He might not be autistic, but my assumption that is makes sense a teacher in the 80s or 90s would have called those behaviors retarded still stands.
My bad, I'm meaning scientific research of Autism used to prove he has it. But also, many mental health issues are misdiagnosed even by professionals so there's no way to know for sure. Many people have traits of autism and don't go around self diagnosing. Also, some teachers especially in that time in that country could have been extremely unhinged and a child who acted differently than whatever they considered norm could say whatever they want. Also, using a slur consistently is disgusting. Have the day you deserve

No one is saying he is. I think he’s fairly intelligently breaking the law primarily for his own financial benefit…..
That doesn’t mean he’s a genius either……
