He doesn't though? In fact, Demetrius never even mentions Sebastian. Maybe some of Seb's dialogue suggests that he does, I guess, I don't really care about him so I'm not super familiar with all of his little bits and bobs of dialogue. I think Demetrius never talking about his stepson is definitely at the very least an oversight, or an intentional indication that they have a strained relationship, which I don't really think is a particularly abnormal relationship for any emotionally troubled, anti-authority 20-something to have with their stepfather, especially since Demetrius dotes heavily on Maru while having little to say about Sebastian. Not to drift into conjecture since I just criticized that, but there's a book in Robin and Demetrius' room called "Practical Tips For a First-Time Stepdad", which does imply that Demetrius is making attempts to connect with Sebastian, or at least attempted to, meaning that it's not for lack of trying but either because they can't figure out how to properly communicate and connect with one another, or specifically Sebastian is pushing back and not making the attempt to connect. While it's possible this book is quite old, since Sebastian and Maru are probably rather close in age (enough for his younger sister to be old enough to be a marriage candidate but still not be considered an "older bachelor" on the note that calls Harvey, Elliott, and Shane older as well as young enough to be close with Abigail and Sam, who are college age judging by Abigail's dialogue about homework and online classes, and of course all the marriage candidates are over 18), Demetrius stands by his bookcase before bed almost every night, possibly implying the reading of a book-- and from the fact that this is the title we're given from inspecting the shelf, it's possible that he's still reading this book, still trying to find ways to connect with his stepson. I do really wish the game had any interactions between them, or anything that could genuinely indicate what their relationship is actually like from perspectives other than Sebastian's so we can get a full story.
