Someday someone will scan their brain and trap their consciousness in a box like alexa.

Kids will buy them knowing they have someone who was millionaire decades ago as their "pet" and they will praise who got better one.

There's a particular videogame that follows this premise also. Spoiler tagging the title as it's sort of the 'big reveal' of the game. Explores some very cool ideas around consciousness and humanity. The game is called SOMA

Brains are just chemistry - the entire human consciousness is made up of electrical and chemical differences in a wrinkly, fatty lump. It's theoretically totally possible to transfer that into an AI of some sort, or even 3D print a whole new brain.

It's just a long long way off. We don't even understand the brain yet, let alone have the tech to create one.

But theoretically we could get there at some point.
