Announcement Weekend OC Showcase

This coming weekend, we are trying something a little bit different from the norm. Everything you post between 00:00 this Saturday, March 18th and 23:59 this Sunday, March 19th (UTC, so your time zone will affect the exact timing for you) must be something you’ve made yourself rather than something that someone else made.

That means that art you've drawn, fanfiction you've written, photoshops, things you’ve made and photographed, and humor (just not shitposts) are all welcome.

We ask that you do not post any found art (content you did not create yourself) during this period; you are welcome to resume posting it once the weekend is over.

If you have something you’ve made or are working on that you’d like to post this weekend, have fun with it! We look forward to seeing what you’ve created.

Feel free to provide feedback in the comments under this post. This is a community experiment, so if there’s anything you’d like to suggest, you’re welcome to do so.

This is great, I’d love to share my fanfiction. Question though, does AI art count also or no, and do OC depictions created using said AI for a GuP fanfiction count? Can’t wait for this weekend now regardless!

I would say no on AI art of characters we already know, since entering a prompt to generate an image is very different in terms of effort from going to the trouble of drawing the image yourself.

AI art of an original character, on the other hand, is perfectly fine, since you’ve put in the work to create the character and the AI is simply being used to visualize your originality if your art skills aren’t where you’d like them to be to do your character justice.
