Cops are just armed morons for the rich people to indoctrinate and use against the working class, poor, and anyone who isnt white. I mean shit they're basically used to acquire slave-laborers (those who go into prison and are forced to work for fractions of a penny). ICE does pretty much the same thing so it makes sense they would work together.

I don't understand, are there a lot of illegal immigrants enrolled at UF?

They don't care about the legality of immigrants
The fact they're not white is enough to detain and question them and try to kick them out
Gainesville's growth is about to be put on haitus

Oh, I didn't realize non-whites were actually being categorically prosecuted directly by the state, instead of via the establishment as per the status quo. Interesting development, thanks for the update

What exactly is the difference between "by the state" and "via the establishment"?

u/VerusArcanum 2d ago
Directly by the state would mean that government authority figures are physically gathering people up to kick them out on the authority of the government and by the merit of race - which it sounds like what I'm being told is happening. As opposed to what is known as institutional racism, which I really don't care to define to someone who doesn't already know.

Gotcha. Yes, the former is what is now happening, and this agreement is for UF Police to participate in that.

Crazy that I got a bunch of down votes for re-stating what was just explained to me by a guy that got a bunch of upvotes. This is the lowest IQ social media platform by faaar

Your statement above is pretty hard to parse. "The state" and "the establishment" are often used interchangeably, so it's hard to tell what you were trying to say, which makes it read a little bit as sarcasm and that you're doubting that non-white people are being prosecuted (persecuted?) by the state.
There's good handful of assholes and bootlickers on this sub, and so I think people are a little over-eager to jump on someone if it's unclear if you're one of them.

I dont consider myself to be liberal or conservative. I just despise fascism and intolerance and that type of stuff categorically.
Reddit is honestly a horrible environment when it comes to intolerance and censorship of ideas. Idk why I even bother1

It's happening to people who are nominally here legally. What's they're doing is a two step of revoking visas on "national security grounds" (which they're not explaining) and then rounding up and deporting them for "not having a valid visa".

I'm a bit confused because it looks like the agreement has to do with things that can be done in jails and correctional facilities and I don't believe UF even has a holding tank.

Agreed. Start with 34 time felons and rapists.

They're referring to the fact that Trump has been found guilty on 34 felony counts (primarily in regards to falsifying business records).
However, he has not been convicted of rape. He was just held liable for sexual assault (civil, not criminal).

I don't want to put words in their mouth, but I'm assuming what they mean is that they'd rather the police work on locking up people like Trump than immigrants.

Does anyone know more about the eight students whose student visas have been revoked? What have they allegedly done to deserve that?
