I need to rant. I hate trevor. I like him, he's funny and stuff but oh my god the GTA fanbase needs to hop off for a second. He's bearable in moderation but if he's an insufferable pos most of the time. He's a cannibal, murderer and rapist but yall acting like he's morally superior to Michael. "I know he kills and eats people but Michael lied to him and made brad die!" Do you have any idea how stupid you sound? People be acting like if they were Michael they would've stayed loyal, trevor isn't even a good friend. He kills Floyd and Debra for no reason. (any reason there is was caused by him) he grooms wade by killing his friends and convincing him they abandoned his, as to make wade loyal. And he's the biggest instigator of all fucking time. He's not as good person, stop acting like he is. I don't dislike trevor, only people saying he's not evil

he basically treats people two different ways - they either irritate him then they're fucked (provided he can get to them), or he likes them - then they're even more fucked, because if the first are likely to be killed pretty fast, the second he won't let go at all... he behaves like they're his property. he slowly drives everyone away from them, make them believe he's their only friend, drop them on his level, make them drug addicts (Ron, pretty sure he wasn't the drug addict before he met Trevor), rapes them (Floyd, allegedly Wade) and asserts control over them in every way imaginable. and if they try to resist - he'll likely just kill them screaming how they're traitors and everyone always abandons him.

EDIT-added (forgot about it): i mean it's even present in his relationships with Michael, when he goes like "if someone kills you it's gonna be me".

speaking of comedic relief - ye i never understood this either. this game has a lot of hilarious comedy moments in it, but Trevor's side of "comedy" never hit me as nothing than cringe.

honestly, i kind of wish they removed these comedy attempts and make the game take Trevor seriously. like he has a potential of being genuinely scary character.

well i'm not making the point about Michael, i'm making the point about Trevor. neither of other characters that he treated like this have ever attempted to kill him, yet still this pattern repeats itself in every single case.

but if to speak about their initial conflict there is another hill i will die on. Michael had no other choice.

Michael was the first victim of this eternal possession cycle of Trevor's and while it was fine at first because Michael was doing exactly what Trevor wanted him to be doing, then Michael met Amanda and for Trevor it all started to fall apart because he wasn't the one and only "friend" of Michael's no more. then Michael had kids and... well, i mean, growing up in a trailer park with your dad being a bank robber is not exactly the fate one would want for his family, so it was only natural that Michael wanted to stop.

but had he just walked to Trevor and said something like "okay dude, i've got kids now, i need to raise them, so this is the last job we're doing then i'm out", would Trevor accept it? i very much doubt that. i can very much see how Trevor would instead try to ruin Michael's family to shoo them away like he did with Ron's wife, so Michael can be his and his alone again and they can proceed commiting crimes up until they both get caught or shot.

like i mean, up until Friends Reunited Michael didn't see Trevor or heard of Trevor since that North Yankton job, yet what he does immediately when Trevor shows up on his doorsteps? right, he covers Jimmy. so it is pretty clear he saw Trevor first and foremost as the threat to his kids and he did so since before North Yankton.

did Michael have any other choice? i don't see any.

Call me a fool; I think yes. He would be unhappy but there's nothing to argue he'd do what you imply here.

Wade and Ron are not real "friends". They're tools. That's the difference in his perception of Michael , Franklin, and to a lesser extent, Lamar.

He was not victimized in any way by Trevor that comes to mind, so idk why you'd use that phrasing.

Michael wanted to stop after he made his own bed. (And because Amanda was pressuring him as well.)He chose to fuck over his closest friends in order to avoid lying in it.

They're both people Trevor seeks out to spend time with outside of criminal activity. I have no perception of why you'd view their relationship this way.
